Illinois vs Nebraska

I've mentioned it a couple times on these threads, and I'll mention it again. It is absolutely astonishing how far Nebraska has fallen. They were the top program in college football from the 70s to the 90s. I mean, they were us without the Gerry Faust or Bob Davie years!

Since then they haven't even been one of the top 40 programs. In the past 20 or so years they have been roughly comparable to teams like UCF and Baylor. Wow...just wow.

All started when they joined the big and lost all regional identity

1971 Nebraska vs Oklahoma on Thanksgiving day, is arguably the greatest college game. It’s in the top five for sure. Frank Solich was fired for 9-3 seasons. That was considered a down year. They have really fallen. It’s hard to believe they are this bad. For me it’s sad to see.

Both those schools have had higher highs than Nebraska in the past ten years

With the way they are playing as bad as it looks they could make it to bowl game with what on their schedule building moment and might jeopardize that recruit from Nebraska ND wants
