Now you got me pumped about this guy. I watched his film (wow! big and so quick) and he would be the biggest get of Brey's tenure at ND.

But you said his signing with us was contingent upon DJ staying. With DJ going to the NBA do you think we are out of the running?

I did see on one of the sites that we are his last visit -- late April!

If Temple Gibbs is as good as I hear we could still have a solid backcourt -- Farrell played very well in the tourney. (Hard to replace DJ who was a warrior down the stretch -- every bit as good as the best players in the tourney.)

So, what are you hearing in Canada about Thon?

Fingers crossed that Brey and the Irish can land this kid. As stu said above this kid could really be one of the best Brey will sign since he has been at ND.

I live about 5 hours away from Thon, but I've seen him play twice. Despite being thin (which he will still be if he puts on 15lbs before next season) he's still a long, athletic, shot blocker and a guy who can score from all over... Unfortunately, he's a one-and-done, which isn't really ND's style, but they desperately need a bridge player for 2017 while Mooney, Geben and Burns slowly develop into capable players as the NCAA level.

While Kanas is the leader at the moment, Thon still has trips planned to UNLV and Arizona State, before he makes his final visit (to ND) at the end of April... At this point a lot of people think Kansas is the leader, but from what I've heard (from people that know Thon better than I) he's an ND type of kid.... Jackson leaving for the NBA does really hurt though. A combination of Jackson returning and Maker in for Auguste and Mooney and Gibbs providing excellent depth off the bench made ND a possible Final Four team. Without Jackson, Maker may wonder who is going to get him the ball and how much impact he can really have at ND in a single year.

My fingers are crossed, but I'm not getting my hopes up... If I'm Brey, I'm scouring the country for a grad transfer on a team that's losing 3-4 quality seniors, who wants a final shot to play in an NCAA tournament that they wouldn't get at their current school otherwise. ND has a nice situation for a player like that. 6 of their top 8 players coming back, but and immediate 30+ minutes per game at the 5 spot, with no immediate competition.

I live about 45 minutes away...I will gather up a group of ND fans and wear our gear and chant Go Irish every time he touches the ball......unless the season is done already!

You are the least informed person on this board and that is saying alot. You are a putz and everyone knows that.
I am sure your phone is in order but your cranium is empty.

How in the world did DJ not even make honorable mention AA ???? Complete joke. Did anyone watch him play ????

Thast's what happens when you don't pay your phone bill.

Since he is trying to get an exception to enter the NBA, it seems like he'd be a one and done if he attends ND. Don't think ND would be interested in him now.

That's ok....we got a PG better than DJ...
T.J. Gibbs

Gibbs and Jackson are totally different players. Gibbs is a better shooter and similar facilitator, but Jackson was a much better, stronger, athlete. Much more explosive than Gibbs and gave ND a much needed shot of athleticism.

Like Gibbs a lot though. He's going to be a very good player and an excellent leader at ND.
