Already wait till after this weeks game against all those legal yet bush league Cut Blocks.

I'm hoping Kelly brings a ball control mentality into his game plan and that would cut down on the injuries. CPJ will get dirtier than ever to get this win. He's a Baptist that hates Catholics.

The ND O-Line needs to dominate if they have any chance. We really aren't going to be in a good mood, collectively, if BVG's unit is out there all day. The defense still isn't very good.

scuba said they're legal.
take from a fan that has seen them at least once every season (permanent cross rival) since PJ has been there- its the cut blocks (NOT CHOP BLOCKS) outside the tackle box on your LB, S, and C that take their toll mentally and physically.

man up their receivers, kill their line and sell out with your LB's and S and you should be good. if you can't complete all of these things simultaneously it will be a long day, win or lose.

Why cut block? If your opponent is bigger than you or if you want to obliterate your opponent and knock him to the ground then hurl your entire body at his knees and ankles. In that case chances are he's either going down or he's backing up so much it takes him out of the play. Then usually by the time the would be tackler gets up the runner has already passed by. And GT's ball carriers are super fast track guys that play football and run track both. They also have one big strong ball carrier that transferred in and he can move the pile. Watch the blocking..........it's not brush blocking the way Navy does it........it's faster and more physical.

why are they bush league ? they're perfectly legal and have been used for years. think no nd player has ever utilized a cut block ? same nonsense here every year.

Agreed... Our program won several titles with the same type of blocking. Actually any program back in the day basically ran a form of the option so it was the same blocking schemes. I am not sure if it is any different today from the past, but it is was it is.

Blows to the head were legal a while back see Decan Jones, but over time they realized the damage to players and made hits to the heads illegal, the game evolves, cut blocks should be next.

What is the exact rule for a cut block - I believe you can not cut block if the player targeted is engaged by another player and can't do so until outside the tackles?

From what I've read on GT, they don't cut block as much as Navy. GTs line is bigger and works upright most of the time but the C on GT cut blocks the most on the line.

No. Can't come from outside the tackle and cut back. Cut blocks inside the tackle are fine
