The key is not only dedicating a guy to cover each back in the GT backfield but blitzing almost every play from the end position and keeping contain. We must get in their backfield and disrupt their options before they make it to scrimmage. Give away some middle of field and keep Schmidt home for fab plunges. But send in smith and others from side

I think that you are correc, I remember one year in an NC game under Ara,
we played a high scoring option team, an ND played Man on Man defense, and shut that team out completely. It was so many years ago, I forget the team we played, but ND play one heck of a defensive game that day.
