If Kelly coached the past 8 seasons at another school and compiled the same record, would you want him to come coach at ND next season? For the same money ND is paying him now?

No! I didn’t want him when we hired him. His coaching success at D1 was Cindy only, big deal. He cashed in at ND and we’re stuck with him

I don't care what school Kelly coaches at, he will NEVER win a NC! Isn't this the reason ND is paying him so much money? Isn't this why ND gave Kelly a huge buyout? ND wants a championship. They thought Kelly could do it. To be honest, up until last year I thought he could do it. Kelly will never be more than a 7-9 win coach with a proven fluke 2012 season but get crushed in a major bowl.

I didn't want him when he went undefeated at UC, because of the type of offense he was running, and the lack of a defense he always had.

My feelings exactly. I think I said at the time we just hired our version of Joe Tiller, whose Purdue teams racked up gaudy passing yards and beat up on middle of the pack teams but never really accomplished much.

He's had enough success to keep us all hoping, just hoping, that this will be the year, only to be like Charlie Brown and have Lucy pull the football away.

And for the record, I think his best season was 2015 when we were decimated by injury and still had a shot to make it to the playoffs going into the Stanford game. By that time, we had so many guys out of the lineup, it was a miracle we didn't lose by three TDs.

But unfortunately, that's the exception with this guy. I think ND's best course of action is to let him coach until his contract expires when he'll want "to retire."
