I heard one of the co-hosts making a reference to how he thinks anti-semitism has made a come back because of Donald Trump. WTF?
To be anti-Semitic in the commercial real estate business is about as oxymoronic as it gets. Many of the Titans in the business are Jewish, across the spectrum from reform to Hasidic.I heard one of the co-hosts making a reference to how he thinks anti-semitism has made a come back because of Donald Trump. Stop making sense, it does not fit the narrative. Not to mention that his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren are Jewish. And one of his top foreign policies is being a strong ally of Israel.
He is stupid rich. A fraction of the top 1% are like him. His base has nothing in common with his lifestyle. People support him because he says and does things that people know have some truth to it and is not allowed in the public court of opinion. The only opinion allowed is all immigration is good. No Muslims have anything to do with terrorists organizations. And if you are white and find those statements to be flawed you are a white supremacist nationalists expressing your white privledge even though we know nothing about your upbringing and even if your Jewish. Trump does the same thing all politicians do, he wants to put people in groups. It is much easier to control and manipulate. 670 the score makes ignorant statements all day when everything they accuse trump of doing can be proven their hero Obama did and usually to a much worse degree. They talk about him all day while there are 800 murders and up to 1600 possible rapes.Of course that's not Trump's fault. I think that would be a ridiculous accusation to make of the man. That said, he wanted America to be upset. He wanted the apple cart tipped over and things to change. He made the statement that...
"The United States has become a dumping ground for other people's problems".
Referring to Mexico he stated "they are sending us people with lots of problems. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists... And some I assume, are good people".
As of 2012, 33.7 million people of Mexican descent, legally lived in the United States. 16.9% of all new recruits to the U.S. military were Hispanic as of 2009. Almost 1/5th. Read that above comment, then think about that for a second. What do you mean you "assume some are good people?" Are there 33.7 million convicted Mexican rapists, drug dealers and criminals in U.S. prisons or who are waiting to be deported back to Mexico? Of course not... Including the illegal Mexicans who aren't represented in that figure. But Donald "assumes some are good people" Good enough to serve in the American military, but not good enough to get beyond Donald's assumption... Most, as in the majority of them are ****ing good people Donald. That's why they live peacefully in the United States, without criminal backgrounds and why a great number of them are proudly serving the country you also call home.
The problem is that Donald says things in a very specific, designed, calculated fashion and he knows it's going to piss people off, alienate them and encourage division. It has nothing to do with political correctness. You call Mexicans drug dealers and rapists, then you backdoor in "but I assume some are good people", then later he can claim fake news and say that you are confusing his words or misrepresenting what he is saying... No, Donald, anybody with a 6th grade education knows what you are doing. You're appealing to the racist people in your voting base that hold that opinion of Mexicans in your Donald Trump "just sayin'" kind of way. Rather than clearly stating that most Mexicans and Mexican Americans are good people, but that there is a crime and drug problem within the Mexican community that needs to be addressed, it's way more controversial and anger provoking (which is what he is looking for) to call them drug dealers, traffickers and rapists and then throw in the caveat that some of them might be (he assumes) good people as well.
Think about that... Let's use another ridiculous steryotype. Could you imagine if I said "the South is full of white rednecks. They're racist. They're uneducated and uncultured... And, I assume, some are good people". How many people would be angry and feel alienated? Millions.
That's my biggest issue with Trump. He encourages division because he wants all Americans to buy into his legitimacy as Commander and Chief, but he has no interest in the issues of the people in the United States that don't look like him, talk like him and share his interests... You know, the people who are his constituents every bit as much as his voting base.
IIO: what percentage of illegals are serving in the military? You have a Canadian leader that just paid millions to a known terrorist who maimed and killed Americans. Can we have a seven paragraph rant about that? Your country has some major social issues yourselves. The indigenous people are wanting equal justice for all. Seven paragraphs on that please.
*Mic Drop*I could give you 50 if you want... But this is conversation about American politics and with all due respect, I doubt there are many on this board that are highly in tune with what is happening the Canadian political sphere, given that probably 98% of those that frequent the board are Americans.
If you sincerely do want 7 paragraphs on the attrocities towards North American indigenous people, the Canadian schools, the ongoing debate on how to best federally assist the Bands, reserves etc, and how to better integrate the Canadian Native People into the current social, political and cultural climate in Canada without alienating their tradition and established culture... I'll do so. I wrote 2 papers on that topic in a Canadian History course in my 3rd year of University and I grew up in a small city bordering two reeerves, one Ojibway and one Algonquin. I have a number of close Native Canadian friends and have had a number of lengthy discussions and debates on the topic. I'd be happy to do so with you if you're interested.
Also...
1. On numerous occasions on this very board I have spoken about my disdain for the fact that the Trudeau Government paid that money with out so much as voicing their displeasure about it... That said, were court ordered to do so, it's not as of they did so willingly. The Supreme Court of Canada ruled in favour of that terrorist bastard.
2. I'm talking about legal Mexican Americans that are serving your military. Trump was the one that failed to distinguish between the legals and illegals. It is his use of broad statements that lack any form of nuance of context that alienate people and lead to his being called a racist... Which I personally don't think he is by the way.
Tu QuoqueRemove the plank out of your own country's eye before you try and remove it from the United States. So, your problem with Trump is the way he speaks or his policies?
Tu Quoque
Nice Toby. Keep making generalizations of people you know nothing about. Looks really good for you, and smart.I get it. You don't like Trump. You don't know why, you just don't. Take a knee. It will make you feel better.
In other words, he doesn't feel the need to be politically correct, and that's what many people like about him. What I don't understand is, since its pretty well established that political correctness is, by definition, an avoidance of reality, why doesn't EVERYONE appreciate someone who has the guts to publicly not be politically correct? Don't get me wrong, he says all sorts of inane things and half-truths. But he often tells the naked truth about a situation and half the population feigns indignation about what he said.He is stupid rich. A fraction of the top 1% are like him. He's a strong ally of Bibi. There's a difference. It would be like saying that most advanced democracies don't like the U.S., when in fact it's just Trump they don't like. Not to mention that his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren are Jewish. And one of his top foreign policies is being a strong ally of Israel.
So, you are a fan of President Trump then. I was fooled by your weird responses into thinking that you didn't like him or his policies. You need to express yourself if you want to chime in mid conversation so others know where you are coming from. No harm. I want out of this conversation anyway. My point was already made.Nice Toby. Politically correct is a made up adjective that fit the narrative of one group of people. For instance people say well so and so is brutally honest. It's a cop out for someone who isn't house broke and without manners. If I walked up to my ethnic boss/co-worker and said "you smell like shit, should I not be written up because I don't believe in being politically correct? In other words, he doesn't feel the need to be politically correct, and that's what many people like about him. Political correctness in a private company environment is a different animal from political correctness in general. You can 100% lose your job by being candid and telling the truth in a company environment. That's understood and accepted. We need to able to be candid and truthful in a public environment in dealing with problems and issues, but you simply cannot be. Political incorrectness equals political suicide. Zero tolerance if you're white, a little leeway if you're not.Politically correct is a made up adjective that fit the narrative of one group of people. 48% of America wanted a foul-mouth cowboy for a president, congrats! However I hope you're teaching your kids, it's not what you say it's how you say it.
Well the people you say like to be "candid" most likely lack conflict/resolution skills and blame PC for everything. Don't confuse respect for PC. In grade school they teach you to treat others how you wish to be treated. It's a forgotten human trait.Political correctness in a private company environment is a different animal from political correctness in general. The Republican Congress surely does not like him because they are doing everything they can in their power to make sure he can't Implement one thing, even if it cost them their seat. He's a strong ally of Bibi. I just threw up a little in my mouth with that visual reference to Rachael Toby. Thanks alot lol!I absolutely positively do not and will not listen to that station. I would rather watch Rachael Maddow model a bikini then have to endure one second of any of those fools on The Score. Chicago sports talk radio is really bad in general with The Score lowering the bar to way below public access territory.
His daughter converted to Judaism. You are 100% dead on. It's funny living in NYC which is home to the biggest Jewish population besides Israel. ( Fact Check, I think) Never heard that Trump was anti semetic till he became POTUS. I'm noticing a trend.
The long winded dissertations by one of the board know-it-alls are getting tiresome. An expert on everything in his mind. The red neck reference was a beauty. As if rednecks aren't continually called racists by the left. The only difference is that the left never follows that up w/ "but some rednecks are good people though", they just leave it as "rednecks are racist" or "racists elected trump". Trump doesn't know how to articulate his points, that's obvious, but to discount that, while he does it like a bull in a china shop, he rails against political correctness. PC is not some made up phenomenon, it's real & has been a huge contributor to our country's division. W/ everyone afraid to say anything that will he pounced on by the PC police, no meaningful discussions will ever be had.

You can't be candid, because too often the truth conflicts with political correctness, which I would define as what certain people WANT the truth to be. Charlottesville; people wanted that to be a good versus evil situation, when the reality was it was evil versus evil, scumbags battling scumbags. Politically incorrect Trump says that, he gets chastised for it.Well the people you say like to be "candid" most likely lack conflict/resolution skills and blame PC for everything.
