and teach him to turn and locate the ball. 1 or 2 were just good pass/catch plays, but a few have been breakups/possible interceptions.
Wow. I am stunned how bad he is. Bad game or always this Bad? If I was MiMi I go after him all day longand teach him to turn and locate the ball. 1 or 2 were just good pass/catch plays, but a few have been breakups/possible interceptions.

He is a major liability. We must have someone who can turn n locate
IIOWatkins has been the best player in the secondary this season... He's been excellent most games and quarterbacks have been throwing away from him, in Julian Love's direction.
He's had a tough night, against a physical, 6'5 receiver, but he's been reliable all year. Going to need him at his best vs USC and Sam Darnold.

I am watching tape delay and in third quarter Watkins is still getting torched. If he turned and looked, I would give him slack. Really bad technique. Having trouble believing he is our best. Julian looks much better technique
Both love and Watkins do not turn to find the ball in man to man. They're almost always in great position. It has to be the way they are coaching. It's awful coaching. They are just throwing up jump balls when the qb knows we are in Man. No threat of a pick.
Love did not turn his head on the terribly thrown jump ball for a TD vs msu, same thing vs Georgia. Watkins was the culprit of not finding and playing the ball tonight. If you don't turn around the other team will catch it, drop it, or defensive pass interference. Need to start finding the ball in the air .Wrong, love turned his head most of the game and played great. Watkins was getting physically outplayed but had very good positioning and some could make the case there was some offensive PI there. I'm glad the refs for the most part let the boys play, for the most part.

Tackling wasn't as good in this game no doubt but can't get up for every game the same. Tranquil was good again. No major breakdowns overall. This game was never in doubt. It was over in the first quarter. Defense only gave up 3 points in the 2nd half. Solid performance. Both BK in his post game presser and Reggie Brooks in his post game show mentioned that the tackling was lacking tonight. They both mentioned this in a 35 point win.

You have just shown you are out of your element dudeNo kidding Sherlock. DB,s need to look for the ball, players also need to keep their head up, run their feet, watch the football, keep contain, stay deeper than the deepest, check counter, boot reverse, read the guard, high point the football etc. Phrases that real football coaches say EVERYDAY on EVERY practice field across the country. From HS to NFL. But a handful of message board commandos come on here and act like they just discovered fire...by saying "defensive backs need to look for the ball".You dudes want to coach so bad? Quit your jobs and go volunteer at you local HS. When the HC asks you if you have any experience. Tell him you post regularly on the ND Fan Forum. Then let me know when he stops laughing at you.
True. Much better than recently. We play tight and even if we don’t turn and look we are in tight coverageYet we are light years better than last year. Why isn't Crawford playing that position?
