I seen this coming for the team this yr. there is NO PLAYMAKERS on D. lost too much talent to the nfl. hell you could hire Saban Urbie or any other so called GREAT HC. they are not doing much better with this group of players.
Duke DB Bolden is better than any player that the Irish have on their D. that is a shame. also the Irish were beat today by good old fashioned fundamental football. the HC for Duke is a GREAT O coach. he was licking his chops to get a crack at this ND D.
they miss Sheldon Day, Jaylon Smith and some other ND D players that were the heart and soul of the team from last yrs D. and even then the D was not a force to be reckon with. uptempo O gave them fits.
this team is trying to live up to the last few yrs ND teams. BUT they have no clue how to make it happen. it is up to coaches to make the players better. but sometimes it isn't going to happen. no matter what. it is everybody fault from the coaches all of the way down to the players. we are going to be lucky to win 5 or 6 games this yr with this current team. O can score and put up points. BUT they cannot have any TO's like they did today. the D isn't good enough to over for them like in the past few yrs.
Until ND loosen the rules for the defensive side of the ball. ie letting borderline kids in to school to give the D some nasty attitude. this is what we will be living with every so many yrs when the good players graduate and get drafted to the nfl.
Still love my Irish to the day I die. will watch every game like I have since the 70's. have come to accept ND will only be a good middle of the road team for the most part with the occasional great yr sprinkled in here and there. the good ole days of ND whooping everyone rears and being the best team in college football are a thing of the past.
