THE RETURN GAME !! CJ Sanders broke a punt return and a kickoff return for TD's last year. The Stanford return was electrifying and got us back in the game in which we should have won ! His return against UMASS got the Irish out of their funk and started the avalanche that resulted in the Irish scoring 62 points !!
I believe he will get 4 total TD's in the return game this year !! He is a playmaker who can break the hearts of opposing fans.
I also believe Corey Holmes will help on the kickoff return game this year. He is the fastest player on the team and he is still learning the receiver position. I believe the reason Coach Kelly spoke glowingly about his speed is he knows speed kills and he wants to show it on special teams while he learns the WR craft.
THE KICKING GAME !!. Tyler Newsome has a great leg and got more consistent as the season wore on last year. His booming punts will give time for Notre Dames young athletic dbacks and linebackers to destroy the opponents returners and cause quite a few turnovers. ( Like when Bobby Bowden called the Irish special teams a bunch of serial killers back when we stomped Florida States butts in 2002) !!
Tyler is also great at kicking the ball out of the endzone on Kickoffs !!
And last but not least Justin YOON !! Mr Automatic on field goals and cool as Steve McQueen was !!
Look for more trickery by Coach Sanford and Coach Kelly like when Kizer shuffled the ball to Durham Smythe for a TD on a fake field goal in the second game against Virginia !! Kizer or Malik will continue to hold for field goals which they will be given the green light for fakes when the opportunity arises !
The Irish's freshman safetys and cornerbacks and the experienced linebackers like Morgan will dominate on punt and kickoff coverage !!
Team 128 will take off where team 127 left off but with more success !!
