The visitor list is looking pretty impressive. If ND can hold onto the current class and pick up 4 more solid commits this will be a strong class. I'm thinking we land Antjuan Simmons who is just as good, if not better than Werner on film. Thomas Graham and Paschal would be great pick ups as well. with guys like Martin, Banks today, and Greg Johnson lingering. Sarell would be an extreme long shot.

Impossible. Everyone knows there is no way any top recruits commit to a team where the coach is on the hot seat. Or so I have read on this board.
Well Tennessee just landed one of the top O line recruits in the country and Butch is suppose to be on the so called hot seat.

This is all window dressing on a burning house. Unless and until we get a coach who understands the importance of dominating at the line of scrimmage and doesn't singlehandedly blow 1-2 games games every year with poor decisions, it doesn't really matter who comes and who doesn't.

Who cares about recruiting? We've all seen the recruitment rankings through the years and we all know the team will underachieve under Kelly.
How is it that ND consistently ranks in the top 15 in recruiting but rarely ever finish inside the top 10/15 in the final season rankings?

I can't wait to root for the Irish again someday when they get a quality person as coach that wants to run/dominate the line of scrimmage.

I've been thinking long and hard about the current state of affairs.....I don't like much of what I see in South Bend....But I do like very much a few things....Brock Wright....has reaffirmed his commitment to Notre Dame.....Malik Zaire has demonstrated the classiest possible exit from Notre Dame since the Gipper.....and Aaron Banks has chosen Notre Dame when there are three dozen reasons why he should not. The common denominator is...these are three quality young men who are putting on a clinic about following their convictions. I admire that very much. You won't hear another negative word out of me about the coaching staff. I am putting my support behind these young men....they will need as much as we can give them.
Harpo, I support the players fully, I just have no faith in the Kelly-aid. I want a coach that will help these young men reach their potential, not burn their 3-5 years with inept decisions and lack of development. Seems most players have regress under this staff.

Greg Johnson is a program changer and would come in and see action right away. Johnson is a version of Jackson of usc who killed our irish this past november
Not to be a downer but USC recruited well for years and had classes ND could only dream of and they stunk it up for years until they made the right a coaching change. They still kind of stink but had a way better year than us because someone is doing their job over there.

The Banks commitment is good news and encouraging. It would be great news if we picked up a few more high quality commitments this weekend, especially on the DL, and especially in light of this past season and our collective angst over Kelly and several key staff. At this point, l accept that Kelly is going to be our head coach next season, so my focus has moved entirely to his decisions on DC and ST and S&C, and how he sorts out who is in control of offensive play calling; depenbrock or Sanford or having himself.
