Hudson Card

Armstrong from Virginia? He had a rough 22. Not sure the thinking on that one, but I’m not a coach. Not sure he’s a step-up from Pyne.
I do not see him as a major needle mover (but I could be wrong). Pyne had a pretty good year statistically speaking. Better than Armstrong I believe.

Armstrong 2021 was much better than 2022 (see below). He does have a bigger arm than Pyne and he's bigger and more mobile, but if Buchner can't beat him out I see this as potentially status quo Jack Coan type at the QB position. Who knows, maybe Armstrong would be electric with ND's OL, running backs, and incoming receivers.

He looks to be a far more accurate passer than Buchner and far more mobile than Pyne. He's also 6'2 and isn't afraid to deliver a hit. One thing about Armstrong is his team in 2022 was pretty crappy. He has NFL potential, can make big throws downfield, doesn't have much injury history and is actually pretty mobile.

He looked good in 2021, but he had a great OL and some great receivers. He seemed to need that to look good (but that might be normal). He isn't a major needle moving QB imo, but who knows.

2022 he lacked those offensive players. He seems to struggle unless he gets a lot of time in the pocket.

Yeah, the team around him was a lot worse, and that makes a difference for any quarterback. And their coaching staff also changed. They had a new coach this year. So maybe that was a factor, too.

He honestly might be really good at ND. I like a QB that can push the ball downfield. Armstrong, Card, and Leary all seem to have that ability. We haven't seen that in a few years at ND.

Watch the Bama game below. Card actually played really well. His receivers were trash that game and dropped a bunch of his passes. He took a lot of hits, delivered some, and stood confidently in the pocket. Then he got hurt and kept making plays with his legs against Bama.

I'm also hearing Pratt (Tulane) who isn't in the portal yet (until after his bowl game.)

Was there for this game and yes he played very well that’s why he’s at top of my list

yea, he had a rough 2022, but 2021 was one where he threw for over 4,400 yards and 31 TD's -- from what I gather, he had a porous OL in 2022.

Not buying this at all
"Notre Dame seems all in on Texas transfer Hudson Card, with Brennan Armstrong as the backup option but this changes almost hourly. Card is also coveted by Georgia and Alabama I’m told as both are losing their starters."

"The Next Round," a show out of Alabama, mentioned that Bama will give Card a look as well.

Irish Beer, a damn good find. Thank You for that intel.

I said already i don't buy national media when talking about ND. Farrell doesn't have a clue

And he's a tough MFer

And a new OC. Many were shocked he didn't leave after 2021

I’ve been reading that Maye was being recruited by Bama during the season to takeover after Young’s departure.

I’m not sure how this is even allowed?

Dude, where have you been the last several decades? Since when is following rules a big priority in the SEC?

I'd take him.

Accurate
Good long ball
Great touch
He can run -- AND NOT JUST FOR HIS LIFE.
Looks like a leader.
13th ranked player in the portal out of 233.

Plus, I haven't seen anyone on ND's current QB roster EVER DO what this guy ACTUALLY DID in 2021.

I also think he has the POTENTIAL to be a needle mover and given his mobility, he's an upgrade as a PORTAL TRANSFER to Coan who I thought was an excellent passer overall but who'd lost his mobility after the foot injury at Wisconsin.

Call me crazy but I don't like the film on Card I like the film alot better on Pratt from Tulane huge arm. I also like Sims from Georgia Tech.

he is like, “where’s Waldo”! but it is ‘where JD?’

None of these QBs impress me all that much. No difference from just convincing Pyne not to transfer.
