How was USC able to destroy ND with only half a roster?

That is one game that I still don't understand. I mean, USC had only half the players ND had but still just demolished them. Kelly said it could have been even worse had USC wanted it to be.

Can somebody explain this game to me?

You're not really an Indiana fan are you? I just can't believe one would actually be runnin' football smack on Notre Dame.

Michigan fan in disguise?

It was a perfect storm for us. We had a supremely accurate QB and all the defenders you had to counter that were injurer. Once you were in trouble against the pass the run opened up. I loved the win, and think we may have beat you if your team was well, but the lopsided win was a function of timing.

USC is loaded with talent. They have speed and athleticism. They will be our toughest opponent this year with Georgia Tech and Clemson being 2 and 3. Last year, Kelly looked 100 years old as the team imploded in November, but USC still has a high powered offense and Sark has them highly motivated.

I'm just trying to figure out why someone would come over to another school's board, pretend to be a fan of that school, and then start threads like this one. OP is an ass, pure and simple.

Larry Bird couldn't get out of IU fast enough........go figure.....

Thanks beach. Do you for see losing to the Irish under a non probation scenario ever again given their archaic administration in modern day CFB?

The ND team had given up on EG. There was absolutely no leadership heading into that game.

I don'[t think it that simple. For example this year you should be favored. I do think our recruiting give us an edge over time.

You must've liked beating the wheelchair-bound retard in grade school too. Typical b!tch sc troll. I couldn't care less about beating a team decimated by injury.

You're a real f#cking genius aren't you? Talk about stating the obvious. I think we all know your campus i$ in the ghetto of Los Angeles. Dear Lord, how will you ever get elite prospects to go there????? Oh the humanity.

MZ had his way with the defense of USC (even in a blow-out). I just hope both teams are undefeated when they meet in October.

You have not out-recruited us. There is not a better offensive line in the country. Our CB tandem cannot be touched. Jaylon Smith is - by far - the best linebacker in the country. Tell us, beach, how SC has better players than ND.

your attempt to flame noted. The real answer is - half of a USC roster has more talent tham maybe all but 5-6 teams in the country. beach is absolutely correct that over time, no one, not just ND, can out recruit USC; especially for elite players.

When USC losses, it is poor coaching or a bad game plan, or lack of mental focus (cars or woman)

Why does this poster insist on making a fool out of himself on a daily basis?

Brian, can you explain to me:
1. why you need to spend your time trolling on an ND board?
2. why Indiana University (your alma mater) regularly ranks in the bottom half of the Big Ten academically?
3. what is the basis for your inferiority complex and ND-obsession?
4. why you keep returning to this board after being banned previously?
5. what your coworkers at Matchnode would think if they were informed of your behavior on this board?
And lastly 6. why you're such a pathetic loser?

Well said Beach. Even fully healthy last year, it's not as if ND would have strolled into your place and smashed you. Suspensions+injuries+Kessler playing well=bad news for ND.

Wrong, yes it does. Using the US News and World Report rankings as a measure, it ranks third from the bottom among Big Ten schools:
#13 Northwestern
#29 Michigan
#42 Illinois
#47 Wisconsin
#48 Penn State
#54 Ohio State
#62 Purdue
#62 Maryland
#70 Rutgers
#71 Iowa
#71Minnesota
#76 Indiana
#85 Michigan State
#99 Nebraska

ND may be favored beach but I believe USC will win. I think they go 10-2,while ND goes 9-3 with loses to USC, Clemson and Georgia Tech. Interestingly enough, I think the Georgia Tech game could get the ugliest. ND has a lot of trouble with Navy and has even lost to them twice recently. Georgia Tech has the same offense but has real athletes.

I do know a lot about CFB even with my handle. I'm a big fan of CFB and CBB.

I am not the guy to ask. I have been nearly 100% wrong on predicting the winner of this game for the past 6 years. It is truly amazing how poorly I have done picking this game.

I think the main lesson that we can learn from that game and last season is the fact that the legacy of Monk Mallory lives on.

I think the lesson we can learn is that you haven't any idea what you are talking about. You are loathed and reviled here. Why you want to keep coming back to take more abuse is beyond me.

Why? Because he hates himself. He clearly has a severe inferiority complex.

I don't know how perfect the storm really was. We rolled out 6 True Freshman on Offense in that game, including 3 on the Oline, and didn't have our starting Left Tackle, and pretty much scored at will. I wouldn't say that was Notre Dame getting hit with a perfect storm. Even if the Irish Defense was depleted, they were playing against a bunch of True Freshman and couldn't stop them.

Ah, the Poodle Apologist rears his ugly head.
