Staes leaving makes sense. He was going to at best split time and he has a chance to go somewhere and be highlighted or compete for starting time. He got enough exposure this year to be a hot commodity.

With staes there would have been 7 tight ends in the room next fall competing for two spots.

No one gave up on them either. Tbias played most snaps in every game. He had plenty of opportunity. James was a Freshman and clearly not good enough like Rico or Greathouse to sniff the field.
