1984 Cal Tech students hacked the Rose Bowl scoreboard so it read "Cal Tech 38, MIT 9". ESPN actually did a feature on the 2004 Yale prank in which Yale students posing as Harvard cheer members handed out flip cards to unsuspecting Harvard fans that read "We Suck". That was predated by a Cal Tech flip card prank at UWash in 1961. Then there was the MIT guys in 1982 who buried a weather balloon in the middle of the field at Harvard who was playing Yale that day. When the weather balloon was inflated, it read "MIT". I'm amazed how easy it is to get all this info and more. Good stuff.
Here it is on Wikipedia …https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Rose_Bowl_Hoax
Great to have students like that. My understanding is that CalTech students do things like that all the time … mostly on their own campus. My thought is that these students are the people who will become more successful after graduation, because they can think, figure things out and get what they want to work.
