It will be hard to fault the player when they have already fined WSU 25000 because the fans wrongfully stormed the field. The field is the players domain and that fan was definitely in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is an enter at your own peril situation.

No it's not. Whether or not a person is in the wrong for being there is not the seminal issue if the fan suffers injury due to excessive force. His presence on the field does not give the player the right to inflict bodily harm. It can be considered a battery regardless of the post game policy.
The path of the player and trespassing fan were intersecting. It can be seen on the vids. The player has the right of way over the trespasser. How do we know the fan was trespassing? 25,000 reasons. The player did not seek out the fan.

None of that matters. This isn't a trespass right of way issue. This is an issue of assault being brought to the District Attorney. I doubt charges will be filed as the fan wasn't seriously injured but had he been I'm very sure the player would be charged. There's past precedent.
