Michigan plays at Notre Dame in 2018. Evidently there was discussion by the UM AD to alter the team's road-heavy 2018 slate, which includes games at Notre Dame, at Michigan State and at Ohio State.

He was at Big Ten media day yesterday.

"That's an opportunity to go to another man's stadium and beat their team and beat their crowd," Harbaugh said. "And maybe even have a chance to beat the elements.

"For football players and competitors, that really makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. So we wouldn't want to deprive our guys of having all home games -- we wouldn't want that. If we had all home games it'd deprive our guys the chance to go on the road and play in a hostile environment. They want to prove that. Prove their manhood."

"Nothing will make you feel like a man more than going into another man's stadium, beating them, beating their crowd and beating the elements," Harbaugh added. "That's the best thing in life. Nothing will make you feel like a man more than that would. ... That (2018 schedule) gives us a chance to go to three different places, some of the best places in the world to play football all in the same year.

"I'd hate to deprive somebody of that. I don't see any reason to work on anything."
