Halftime speech

This video shows a bit of what Freeman said to the team at halftime:

Good stuff. BK always seemed more businesslike when he spoke to the team. Marcus has a little more fire in him.

Here we go! Gotta get that BK hate revved up! But I've seen a few pretty sweet run through a wall BK locker room talks captured on video. I think BK was comparatively great at emotional pep talks, and had gravitas that you could respect and resonate with. Most coaches are pathetic and would make me want to quit sports on the spot, as if I was wasting my life, after listening to some sorry-ass meat headed, pseudo inspirational bullshit. And I'd excuse myself and go to the bathroom and deliberately skip the whole thing if I wanted to keep my energy up. Apparently MF said something about writing your own history, and that the conquerors in this life are afforded that privilege, and you got the pen in your hands. Which I will admit is not half bad if tastefully delivered. A little florid. I'm guessing on average MF delivers a comparatively low-key but still fairly potent inspirational half time speech. At least that's how I would picture it going over well. Even though most of the time ND is comfortably ahead so all you really want to do is not somehow screw it up, or maybe even skip it altogether. And just be like, Alright! Just keep doing whatcha doing!

I gotta admit, that looked pretty effective. He was barking, but there was sincerity, and no bad energy. Just an appropriate sense of urgency. With a focus on something specific to wrap your head around. And not just free floating intensity. He's got the human touch!

You're in the minority with that kind of thinking! BK was businesslike, to the max. MF has a way with words that BK would never use.

To each his own, I've seen a few snippets of BK pregame or halftime inspirational talks, and was totally fired up by it. But I like the guy, if you don't, then it wouldn't mean shit to you. MF is obviously going to be particularly, almost uniquely effective when it comes to good communication as a football coach, and having that rapport and connection, it goes without saying. It oozes from his pores, he's handsome, confident, comfortable in his own skin, and a legitimate Boy Scout, in the good sense of that term. I'm just saying BK's pretty good too. I wonder what Jim Harbaugh's like, he's such an odd bird. Or Deion Sanders.

I wonder what's runnin' through BK's mind this week. He slipped out of town in the middle of the night for greener pastures, and all along the pastures were greener in South Bend. He just never had the connection with the players the way Coach Freeman has. Team spirit is important, especially at a school like Notre Dame. It's back!

Kelly just got a whole bunch of talent through the portal some of the best/most expensive portal prospects in the game

that LSU team is going to be relevant in the national picture of college football going forward

In fact if Brian Kelly's LSU were in the national title game I think they would give OSU a much more competitive game than what Notre Dame is going to give OSU in the national title game this season

The reason he left Notre Dame was because their lack of aggressiveness with spending money for talent. LSU is doing the opposite they are willing to spend money they want to win they aren't sitting around making academic excuses for not winning they are materially backing up their desire to win with a lot of money That's why Kelly left to LSU

Kelly hasn’t done sh1t with any of the talent he’s had thus far. What the **** makes you think that way other than just potential? Kelly has squandered much more than that in multiple years. He’s never once come through with the talent he has because his coaching is subpar

Sounds like Notre Dame and Brady Quinn made that equal if not advantage Notre Dame. WTF are you talking about?

It's better to leave chaseball to his own realities. He's just here to create a fuss. I should know better than to respond to his silliness.

Lsu will go 9 and 3 next year and miss the Playoffs
They’ll be lucky because Alabama will be down. Otherwise they’re gonna get their ass kicked by most top-tier teams in the nation next year. Brian Kelly! He coaches them up, but needs 30 recruits in the transfer portal to succeed in Year 3? Does that stupidity sound weird to anybody other than me? That dude’s resting on his laurels. He has no ambition to really build a program anymore. All he ever wanted was a paycheck.

Hopefully for the Kelly lovers, he can build some semblance of team chemistry by week 12. Otherwise he’s fvcked.

I'm sure that's what he's thinking. Team spirit is important. He's pondering that wisdom.

Well, after 30 transfer portal pick ups, I can’t assume you think team chemistry is a big point in his coaching. He definitely doesn’t wanna coach them up anymore. Kelly wants things handed to him. That’s not how life works dude. Get over it. Larry Cocker won a NC and he svcked as a coach

LSU opens at Clemson next year, so likely 0-1 to start the season again, given history that might be the safest bet in sports.
