Freeman’s staff

I bet MF didn’t want Rees on his staff and most likely encouraged him to find another job. I obviously have no proof of that. Just a gut feeling.

Freeman has taken some heat on the board over the years. It’s nice to hear Golden speak so highly of the job he’s done. Link below of Golden acceptance speech for the Broyles Award.

ChaseHasNoBalls should listen from the 2:20 mark. Then maybe he'll get why ND will never be the football factories like the OSU's, UGA's and Alabama's of college football.

Saban said his last round of hires is one of the reasons he called it quits. Made some mistakes and he basically said Rees was one of them
Can you please attach a link with Saban saying that about Tommy Rees.

Not true… Rees left so late and freeman wasn’t prepared for the late departure… we had one chance at Ludwig, he declined, Parker. That cost us a chance at the playoffs in 23. 1-2 more wins with competent OC despite our issues at WR.

Yes. It was one of the determining factors of him accepting the position knowing Rees had agreed to stick around. Both of them had opportunities to go with Kelly.
Okay if you say so. I’m not sure I totally believe that, but like I said it was just my gut feeling.

I thought the word on the street was that whoever the new coach was gonna be, that TR was going to be staying on as OC, and that was part of the deal for any of the candidates. And that was where TR stood, and that he was protected by Swarbrick or whoever and it was a package deal, and that's coming from the top. You want the job, this is your OC. And if true, very convenient that MF apparently felt the same way.
