The Irish don't need gimmicks. Line up, punch them in the mouth and win the game.
Why not roll on the green jerseys? Nd can't be scared of them forever or only use them when they are huge favorites. Accept the challenge and rise above the pressure.

I don't think BK as of yet is worthy of going green jersey.
It needs to mean something....like we've been dominating and this year we have been eeking out wins and in comes a number 1 team .... yeah that is a good time for a pick me up...
but he has done none of the above so let's just put on the navy blue and old gold and go out and dominate the trojans.

Maybe time ND comes out with an attitude and comes out in all black or not but, they need to come out pissed off and ready to play. BK teams have a tendency to start slow. If ND can kick USC's butt early they may play soft.

This type of game was just a bigger than normal game but nothing out of this world back when Holtz was at the helm.
Now it's like people are treating this game like it's oxygen or some shit.

It will be a great night for us rabid Irish fans ! The Irish are back ! Josh Adams Dexter Williams and Brandon Wimbush and backups are going to rush for 400+ yards on USC's weak rush defense.
It would be sort of cool if the Irish had them in hot standby for a halftime switch if they needed a boost. This year would be the 40th anniversary.
I would call that move a flinch that showed them ND lacked confidence thus the first sign of desperation. Saturday night let's just hit USC harder than they've ever been hit before. Dominate and break them. Crush the bastards with tough Midwestern football.

ND does not need a gimmick to get up emotionally for this game -- if the coaches and players cannot be emotionally sky high for this one, special green jerseys, or any other gimmick will not work. Everyone knows what lies ahead for the next 6 weeks, and possibly where it can lead to --
What does concern me, though, is that ND will be emotionally ready for this and probably play well. It is NEXT week that concerns me, players simply cannot get to that level emotionally 2 weeks in a row.
I thought it was great when Devine brought out the green jerseys in '77. I just wish he had put them back in the closet after that game. I think it is a cool tradition to wear them from time to time, but using them to gain an emotional edge in a game is so "win one for the Gipper" it is almost embarrassing.
NO!!! Like others said. Forget the jersey, come out and make a physical statement on the O and D lines. That'll get the blood pumping

I kind of hope not Notre Dame is Blue and Gold.
The green jersey ideas okay from time to time. But I fear every time Notre Dame plays SC with the green jerseys it kinda loses its "Glamor" for lack of a better word.
Now if the Irish do come out and green jerseys it wouldn't be disappointing as well.
Regardless of the Jersey color I hope the Irish pumble SC!
The only green jerseys I want to see Saturday are USC jerseys embedded with Field Turf and tears.
