Great Win

Will take the win, no doubt. But really for ND to get to the next level, close games against Navy can't happen. Need some disruptive D lineman.

Yeah I'm surprised the qb didn't seem to have to make a quick decision in the backfield, i.e. get smoked in the 2nd second. Maybe we were trying to play some calm version of gap control.

There is no such thing as a bad win so I'll take it.

Wimbush needs to stop sailing passes or we lose by 2 scores out on the Farm. They'll play every bit as hard as Navy, with significantly better football players. Hopefully St. Brown's exit was just precautionary and Claypool will be back as well.

Navy is a winning team this year and the AAC is no picnic.

could've played a tad better on defense but overall a good win against a triple option offense that is tough to defend and plus navy has to have the least penalties per game for div 1 teams with makes it even harder for opposing teams. i'll take a ninth win however our irish can get it

Ugly does not equate to bad. Losing is bad. Winning ugly is unacceptable and the perfect opportunity for a coach to treat his players like slaves this week and just torture them about how bad they played... To the point that they want to kick the shit out of Stanford if for no other reason than to shut their coach up and prove him wrong.

Nick Saban would be licking his chops with that win... He'd make his kids feel like they were subhuman because of that performance all week and have them playing with malice in their hearts next Saturday night.

Which Wimbush will we see next week? The one who sailed balls and got EQ hurt with another bad throw or the kid who seemed to gain confidence and make some good throws in the second half? Story of our season, a good season, 9 wins was my optimistic goal, but if he makes some throws we could still be in the hunt. (Maybe we don't beat Miami that night but Georgia!)

I really hope he improves going forward.

The only thing concerning me with this thought is we said the same thing after Wake and laid a monster egg against da U.

Love me some IO!

The Irish appear to have peaked in the NC St. game. They haven't played a complete game since then. Wimbush and the passing game are adequate at best. A win is a win, but the defense couldn't get off of the field and Navy set the tempo. Let's face it, Navy doesn't have near the talent the Irish have yet played nose to nose until the end. Good for the Navy. As for the Irish, 9-2 is a very good season. We all hope it will be 11-2. I don't it will be unless the Irish get back to their pre-Wake Forest form. GO IRISH!

4 of 6 on Fourth Down is a killer when playing them. I felt the Defense played very well. I kept waiting for the Explosive Play(s) to start mounting up but the Irish Defense tackles well all game long.

But if they find a way to go 1-0 and then 2-0, that will be huge when closing out their recruiting class. It’ll also likely lead an end of the year Top 5 and 2018 preseason ranking.

Could have been a lot easier with a few more defensive plays on fourth down and third down. The Navy oline being able to control things wasn’t encouraging. The Stanford game is going to be very difficult defensively. Offensively, I think we’ll be OK on a fast field as long as weather conditions are good.

I was embarrassed to be a Irish Fan today. there is no way in heck we should ever lose to the naval academy. we give them to much respect. I love that they are serving the country and the patriotic thing. BUT that has nothing to do with playing football.

I actually stopped watching for awhile because I couldn't believe that on 3rd and 16 with a team who cannot pass the ball converts on a freaking running play for 18 yrd. then when they are inside the 20 with 3rd and goal and the only way they are going to score is pass the ball and we left the player wide open.

the Irish are bigger and have a size advantage and they still let them do whatever they wanted all game long except for the few times the D stepped up.

disgraceful for the Irish to play down to them yr after yr.

ok nitwit. I bet you think vangorder would have done a better job against Navy since you were so fond of the hire. Talk about clueless....
Same old Pennick! Making friends and showing his total lack of football knowledge
