The Irish defense was tough. Foskey, Lacey, and Henderson (on blitzes) led a fierce pass rush and the secondary shut down the passing game.
The secondary including Clarence Lewis are playing far better than expected.
Audric Estime and Chris Tyree stepped up along with the offensive line to establish the running game and to take the pressure off Pyne.
Lorenzo Styles made some crucial first downs with his yards after catch.
Drew Pyne shook off the nerves and a bad case of the "yips" and made a couple of easy TD throws. Getting a win in his first game starting should really help him going forward with his confidence. He knows he doesnt have to do too much just be a good game manager and let the Oline and running backs take over.
#7 Audric Estime is the man now. A 230 bulldozer that will wear out defenses. Chris Tyree made plays in the running and passing game. A senior that has "winning" in his blood.
***Many good teams have been upset by smaller schools this year. Texas a@m lost to a sunbelt team last week (just like the Irish) and went on to beat a good ranked Miami team.
*** This Irish team is going to improve every game just like last year. Clemson was written off last year after a couple of early losses and an inept offense but got TEN wins with GREAT defense. We will do the same.
On to North Carolina. They are no Ohio State. We will run all day on them and the defense will shine.
