I enjoyed the game from finish to end !! The Offense was awesome ! And the defense played tough in the second half ! Should keep seeing more improvement on defense next week against North Carolina State !

Just stop, Bodi. Just because some are confused/upset/angry/pissed at the state of NDF doesn't mean that they want the team to lose.
It isn't that. He is a great fan. But he blamed Kizer and turned on Kelly and then flips each week. I understand he gets upset. We all do. But when we get mad at Kelly, we don't call everyone idiots when we forgive him. He is like a prude promo date. Mixed signals.
Maybe all the so called IRISH fans should just stop with all the bitchin about a easy Irish win. And many posters on this board have openly said they want the team to lose so Kelly can be axed.
Purse is attacking posters for rooting for coach Kelly and not being Irish fans. Why don't you scold him? Fricken crybabies who bitch after every win. And like coolirish said last week--this board is full of quitters !
And for the record I already posted earlier in the week that Kelly is not a great coach. But I love the Irish football team and want them to win whoever is coach. Even if Purse was coach !
Bodi, I was happy and relieved with this win, and getting ready to celebrate same. A loss would have been devastating for the team psyche. There's no way I enjoyed the game start to finish. Our poor tackling on defense and special teams, and non existent pass rush in the first half were driving me nuts. The second half was much more enjoyable, despite the mistakes on offense that kept CUSE in the game longer than warranted. We're playing a lot of young guys on defense, and they will get better from week to week. Let's get to .500 next week and show steady improvement. One game at a time has special meaning for this team.
Whooooaa! The Irish should be in the top-25 this week with that showing. 2-3 record, it's almost like last week never happened.
I respect your enthusiasm, in fact I find it wonderful to hear, but if you really believe, giving up this many points to a terrible team - well, the dream world you are in, few of us will follow. The rest of the schedule, given this performance, is frightening. You and your optimism will be needed later this year. Stick around.

I hope that continues into the next game. Nyles Morgan played a helluva game. I like the spirit of the players.

I think with Kizer we are in every game. If we make progress on both sides of the ball we could have a good season. I am going to enjoy watching Kizer the rest of the way. He will most likely be gone after this season. I like how he reacts when he messes up. He knows he can get better.
Agree about enjoying Kizer. He makes a ton of good throws, and he is able to extend plays. His int in the second half is consistent with his tendency to make a few really bad decisions per game. That and taking the sack for a fifteen yard loss were this weeks. Don't expect error free playing, but do expect him to cut down on these kind of mistakes. Now, his throws to the flat absolutely need a lot of work, but these are mechanical errors, easily fixed with time and experience. As stated previously, Kizer is a very good QB, and he has the potential to be a great college QB. Looking forward to enjoying his journey.
Great win? I'm not sure about that but it is a win which is positive. The droves of naysayers are deserved. BK has not done a very good job managing this team. There is absolutely no reason ND should have lost to Duke, Texas, and probably MSU. MSU couldn't score if they had a bottle of vodka and a handful of roofies..

There is absolutely no way that should ever happen. This team annually recruits top 5-15. I think BK has some very good qualities but he has lost the team and I think his time has come. He put blame on some of the wrong guys and defended the indefensible IMO.
I think he is a solid coach but things change and I think it's time for ND and BK to part ways.

He is the best QB I've see @ ND in a long time. I also enjoy watching him play. An NFL first rounder in my mind for sure
LOL I gave up trying to understand purse along time ago. Btw we shouldn't overate a victory against Syracuse. That is supposed to happen! The only difference is that they were supposed to score 17 points instead of 33. This team is very young has absolutely no idea what it's identity should be and the coaching staff is in turmoil after losing its defensive coordinator.
Buckle your seatbelt it's going to be a bumpy ride! What I'm not going to do is play the game of up one week down the next. I fully expect Brian Kelly to be the coach in game one of 2017. I fully expect the 2017 team will be much much improved in relation to this year's team. How many seniors are on defense? Issac Rochelle and Daniel Cage? 2017 will be a much improved team for whoever the coach is but I'd be shocked if it weren't Brian Kelly. Not because I loooove him but because JS knows this team is young and replacing a ton from last year. He's not some reactionary internet fan.
Wasn't expecting miracles on defense but I at least saw some improvement. Although it was Syracuse, we really needed that win. Just taking it a game at a time and hope to see incremental improvements. I'll be at the NC State game on Saturday and hoping we can pull off a victory.
I think IIO summed it the best. He has no problem with Kelly being HC as long as we get someone like Charlie Strong as DC

3 Our new defense should show some improvement as the team rallies for new DC.
Yet they barely covered.
They are going to play against teams that are more experienced and older. Bigger. And they have good coaches too.
