One man single handedly destroying my beloved Irish football. Yeah it’s personal. About as personal as Weis, Willingham, Davies, whom I also disliked and was vocal about early on and was told to “give them time.” “You’re stupid, Weis is a genius”. “Ty need time, let him build his program”. Sure BK and Rees recruited those guys but is freeman blind? Or just that bad at evaluating talent? He had all last year to see what the team has. He could have gone to the portal but was convinced we had 2 championship level qb’s. I mean he is the head coach! He doesn’t get a pass

He was focused on the defense last year. He had zero input on the offense. He had to rely on Rees for that. This is why I strongly feel Rees needs to go., and hire a seasoned OC/QB wuth a successful track record.
Yeah I get that but he still saw payne/Buchner play every day. And he took over in December and had the entire spring and summer to see what he had. he’s the fkn head coach! Obviously Rees provided his opinion and it’s a head scratcher but freeman saying ok tommy whatever you say we’re good we have 2 championship caliber qbs no point in looking further is pretty crazy
Honestly, I don’t remember who was available in Jan/feb and when guys like nix, hooker, Williams, Daniels went elsewhere. The real point is , freeman took Rees evaluation of the qb talent and said we’re good to go.
The effort to identify one was essentially zero and he admitted to that. oregon/usc/lsu/tenn they all found guys lots better then what we have
