I rooted for Everett Golson to succeed as hard as anyone! He is incredibly gifted as an athlete and passer. However, over the 55 years that I have followed the game, I have noticed one thing that spells the difference between the guys who ultimately bring victory and those that disappoint . . . heart. Malik Zaire has tons of heart and Golson does not. Zaire came to Notre Dame to compete and win and never gave a thought to tranferring. He always believed he was the best quarterback and he is! Quarterback requires more intangibles than having a great and accurate arm and athletic ability. Malik Zaire is the type that would run through hell with a gasoline overcoat on to succeed. Give Zaire the trust he has earned. He is here and Golson ran away.
