Golson at FSU

This is true! Golsons problem was he made the mistake of believing he would get a fair shot at FSU only to be thrown away once they realized ant ACC
Championship was out of the question.

Recruits should consider this !
What the hell does that have to do with anything? You are such a jackass!

His Grandmother passed. From what I understand she was huge in his life, but agree, if he had been the starter, he would not have bailed. He did not fit in at FSU for obvious reasons. Can he be a good QB going forward,,,, depends on acquiring maturity. His stint with Seminoles was a success, yeah right, because Jimbo Said it Was ! http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...-everett-golson-successful-20151227-post.html
gotta think his football career is pretty much over.

A few months dated, but this was an assessment by Bucky Brooks (NFL Media Analyst) from mid-Sep:

QB Everett Golson, Florida State: Despite leading the Seminoles to a win over USF, Golson's stock will take a hit in scouting circles due to his early game struggles with accuracy and ball placement. He missed too many throws to be considered an elite prospect. Golson must be spectacular with his accuracy and ball placement to overcome concerns about his size and frame. While evaluators will give him solid marks for his 5:0 touchdown-to-interception ratio, the fact that he couldn't deliver pinpoint passes or pick apart an overmatched South Florida secondary raises more concerns about his long-term potential as a quarterback prospect.

I posted about Golson in a different thread months ago that the writing seemed to be on the wall there at FSU regarding Maguire being the obvious long-term choice, and Fisher wanting to get Maguire more experience/reps. Golson's stats for the year were pretty decent: 147/219, 1778 yards and 11 TD's vs 3 INT's.

As many have stated, I wish him nothing but the best. I believe he will pursue the NFL as a QB and while I certainly don't see him getting drafted, I believe he ends up on a Practice Squad somewhere.

I am from Myrtle Beach and wanted to see why he did not make the trip to the bowl game. His grandmother passed away and he was very close to her. I know that many criticize this kid, but at the end of the day he is a Notre Dame graduate. That is something not many can say, athlete or otherwise, a very proud accomplishment indeed for the Golson family. In addition, the season went well, especially as it relates to our quarterback situation, a wealth of talent there. Empathy would benefit some of these posters, especially those who clearly have a very clouded view of Golson, and certain ingrained biases. His current set of circumstances are not related to football, but family. Go Irish beat the Buckeyes!

His grandmother died on 12\18. Clearly that was time to grieve. He bailed on his team.

Houston is dominating FSU. Cook, the women abuser, has -1 yard in the first half and now fumbled inside his own 20.

This is a very good thing to see.

I can't believe Golson isn't better than this jamoke

He screwed ND and FSU this year - 2 for 1 deal - Like how Houston is kicking FSU today.

EG did not screw anyone.

He went to FSU after being promised a starting spot when he was second team at ND. He had 11 TDs and 3 Ints and was replaced when hurt because FSU new the NC chances were done.

What the hell did he owe FSU. I'm sure he enjoyed seeing them pummeled.

Does anyone here honestly believe that Golson would miss this game if he were still the starting QB?

Not me !No but if I was going to ride the pines for a team that was obviously going to mail it in I would have stayed home with my family to lend support also. This was a mercenary transaction from the start and mercenaries owe no allegiance and are owed none.F FSU ! Go Irish beat OSU!

Definitely would have helped having him there today. Had he been there, Maguire would not have come back into the game. Shame.

Either way, good luck to Everett in the future and condolences to his family. Would love to see him make it onto a pro team.
