Go Army! Go Navy!

Military academies should be classified FCS and play other FCS teams instead of being cupcakes for the big schools.

Im not so sure Navy and Air Force qualify recently as Cupcakes, Maybe Army?

2016 Guaranteed wins for Notre Dame:

Nevada
Army
Navy
Wake Forest*

My ND friends concede these are all wins. Don't think anybody, anywhere thinks otherwise.

*Wake Forest--I added that one myself. It's the bottom of the ACC barrel. What are you to do..........all conferences have them.

Navy coach interviewing with BYU next week. Can Navy keep up the level of play they had with the third coach?

What better way of honoring our nation's best, but by scheduling them in sporting events? Don't get why SOME fans degrade the military academies, but yet, cheer their program on playing the likes of Chattanooga, Texas State, Idaho, Bethune Cookman, The Citadel, Murray State, Savannah Stare, ULM, and Charleston Southern..

Instead of Chattanooga, why not a game with Navy, or AF?

By the way, FSU played Nevada in 2014.

......and yes, kudos to Charleston Southern and The Citidel on their recent big upsets.

Did you happen to watch Navy play this year? Is N.D. playing Wake this coming year, I was under the impression that we were one out of every three years for each ACC team? I would happily take N.D. and give the points on 2016 vs. Wake Also your N.D. friends concessions are hardly compelling authority for that proposition, nor is your ignorance of any contrary opinions.I am prepared to be persuaded and corrected however.. [smile]

I think Navy is a pretty solid team. 10-2, that's plenty good enough to remain at the FBS level.

Anyone that refers to the academy teams as cupcakes in any way has no feel for competition and tradition sickening really

He's been. Did Bush go every year? Nixon? USMA grad Dwight D. Eisenhower never went to one of them. Nice to see RW Talk Radio got their hooks into this angle. Evidently nothing left to slurp off Senator Rafael Cruz
considering the contempt so many on the left have for the military....

They said on Saturday that Navy is looking to promote their OC. It will be a challenge to keep playing at their 50 year peak.

The "peak" has lasted for a while. And I thought duo would stay quiet about navy since he looked like a blathering idiot when navy climbed to #15 in the polls this year when he had previously called them a cupcake. But I should've known better. Stupid is as stupid does.

OK fran.......

In your wildest dream do you actually believe Navy has any chance of beating ND next year? Or how about Army? Any football fan I've talked with including ND fans have already chalked those games up as wins. Any time you want to place a bet on any military academy vs. ND be sure to let me know.

According to Wikipedia, "Before Navy won a 46–44 triple-overtime contest in 2007, Notre Dame had a 43-game winning streak that was the longest series win streak between two annual opponents in the history of college football."

So..........let's not call them "cupcakes". Instead we'll just refer to them as scheduling guaranteed wins. And that's OK. Lots of big time programs do it.

No duo, we won't call them (navy) anything remotely close to a cupcake or a "guaranteed win". U can, but u would solidify urself as a bumbling idiot, as u so often do on this site. And just as a side note, I'm not sure why u bring up army as though we play them often, we don't. If u were to do any research at all, u would know that, but since u don't, u continue to look like the idiot that u are. And for all those supposed ND fans that r ur friends that chalk up navy as a win, thèy're almost as dumb as you are. The only thing that makes them not as dumb is the fact that they are ND fans. But make no mistake, they're dumbasses too if they classify navy as a cupcake. Oh, and btw, for u to equate playing navy to some of the slop that ur team plays w/ ur "lots of teams do it" drivel is laughable & very much uninformed. Very much ur style. U're a buffoon, and w/ each post, u become a bigger one. One last point. Don't u think that u sound like a horse's ass when u call a team that was ranked #15 and won 10 games this year a cupcake? Have u no shame? U should if u don't.

fran..........

Be sure to let us all know any time you are interested in betting on any military academy vs ND. You know you will never make such a bet..............and WHY pray tell?

And, you know the answer............"it's guaranteed". So, here's 2 wins. They may be small but they're slow.

Saturday
Nov. 5, 2016 Navy Midshipmen
EverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL

Saturday
Nov. 12, 2016 Army Black Knights (Shamrock Series)
Alamodome, San Antonio, TX

And good luck with the rest of the schedule in 2016.

Even though we'll play them a little more often going forward, ND has only played Army around once every six years for the last 40 years & they are no worse, & most of the time are better than the bottom of the barrel that everyone else plays & in some cases are just as good or better than two of the bottom of the barrel from some teams' schedules, namely yours. I still don't like playing them though & I would classify them as a cupcake. But the Navy stuff is so dumb, it makes my head hurt. You sound like an idiot when you call a team a cupcake when they win 9-10 games a year, & when they do play the top teams in the country, they play them tough, w/ legitmate chances to win (South Carolina & Ohio State come to mind, not to mention beating ND three times since '07). U wanna call Army a cupcake? Have at it, but drop the navy is a cupcake argument unless you like looking like a horse's ass, which may very well be the case based on your posting style.

fran.......

Well, you do make a couple of points: 1.) by acknowledging Army as a cupcake and 2.) Navy can boast about beating Brian Kelly and Co. consecutively in back to back years 2009 and 2010. Of course, those were the days when ND was on the "dark side" to put it mildly. Here's the Navy Schedule, played 2 ranked teams and lost to both.
