Perfectly executed by the players. Can you imagine the early fan meltdown if it hadn't worked though? Every so called trick or fake play that works the coach is a genius. When they don't they are calling for the coach's head. Same play, different execution ..... different result. Always been that way.
These announcers are the worst. They do not even identify ND players. Our kick off guy is a handicap if he does not start putting it in the end zone
Hold my breath every time Malik runs a designed QB run play. Good legs but he subjects himself to some heavy hits. It only takes one weird hit and the season outlook changes instantly. The outside runs don't concern me much as he can skoot out of bounds but the inside moves where the LB's get a free shot could take its toll.
I see it differently. He seems to avoid alot of it, unlike Golson last season. MZ's a much more instinctive runner. He doesn't have all of Golson's throws yet. Golson can make every throw.
MZ not looking sharp. First road game jitters? Cavs defense putting better pressure that Texas? Weather? Hope he gets back in a groove. Need TD's not FG's.....
So you get a 1st down in the 1st quarter of Game 2 and the QB gets a stinger and jammed neck. No thanks I'll take the 3 points.
Agree the season early and the necessity to get a first down wasn't need being up by 9
MZ is just fine and Kelly is using him to his strengths. Questioning Kelly use of his qb is just another example of the resident stalker Mo1e, saying something else that is pure stupid.

Virginia ran a bad pick play on the TD and no flag. ND plays by a different set of rules. Effing joke.

Besides, when Malik gets hurt all you are going to hear from ND fans is how incompetent Kelly is for subjecting Malic to unnecessary hits when he doesn't have to. Let Malic use his legs to extend plays and bail ND out when plays break down. Or if ND needs the QB runs to come from behind... no problem. But then you know so much about this sport why not? Get your QB injured. What the hell. Who cares?

Same nd game as most when we're heavy favorites on the road. Dominate, give up some fluky plays, fail to finish drives.
We r playing like girly men. Keizer has no gonzo so. O line is asleep. We r better than this. I think?
I replayed the 4th and 1 and again.........A down blocking back it not a bad idea from time to time
