Who are the four players from the 2016 recruiting class you think will make the biggest impact? My four:

Love - His high school tape is arguably the most impressive of the '16 class. I think he ends up on offense.

Eichenberg or Kramer - I bet one of these two end up with the most career starts in the '16 class.

Kareem - Someone has to get pressure on the QB

Stepherson - Kid looked electric in the spring game.

So Love & Stepherson were both 3* recruits. Even though they got offers from places like Michigan, Florida, Michigan State, NC, Iowa etc, a lot of people were railing on the fact they were just 3* players.
So did the coaches find gems in them or did they coach them up? Getting immediate playing time at ND as a freshman is pretty good for a 3* recruit.
As for Eichenberg & Kraemer, I'm not sure who is playing where? Is either one of them showing signs of playing in a position not already anchored down? I know both play OT, but is one more prone to left or right tackle?

And does Kareem just come in games as a third down rush specialist?

Are we talking biggest impact in 2016 or their overall career at ND? If it's career my list is:

Daelin Hayes (he has to stay healthy)
Kraemer
Claypool
Studstill

Bump - The players I listed were for biggest impact in their ND career. Lots of different ways to define impact, I generally go by most career starts.

Purdue will probably have 'impact 3 star players' also. Not so much for four/five star players.

(hint: there are a great many more 3's than 5's and a great many more 4's than 5's; btw, how many of the Fr. 3 star players would you trade for 5* Fr. players at Bama, LSU, UGA or tOSU. Yikes! hard to unnerstand such comments!)

I doubt any of the offensive Fr. will play significant roles, unless guys we highly rated and thought of prove to be 'busts'.

One of the said 3* players got an offer from Bama before they offered their eventual 4* get at WR.
So I guess he is good?

they are (the ones you mentioned) very good!
how good: measure it in W/L's in the next 3 years.

I think this team will go 30-6 over the next three seasons. A combo of 11, 10 & 9 wins. The 11-1 year gets us in the CFP.

I don't predict bowls because they are determined by match ups. Last year ND got the toughest Bowl of anybody. If ND gets Houston or even FSU we finish 11-2 & ranked top 5 in the polls. With 2 losses by 2 points against top 5 teams.

Absolutely not to mention the lay up Stanford got in the Rose Bowl against an absolutely overrated Iowa team,

if stepherson gets playing time this fall at wr then our irish are in trouble because there is just too much depth for him to get any action. now if we would have signed 5 star Robertson then maybe a true freshman sees playing at wr but stepherson isn't Robertson

What in the hell does "there is a great many more mean"??? Straight garbage, standard. How has UGA and LSU faired with all those 5-stars?

Oh St was the best team in the nation last year, if UM hasn't botched the QB situation, they would be champs. Coach cost them the season, plain and simple.

if no Hunter, one of the WR's just moved up the food chain and the rest got a bump.

You are right bout DRob, maybe he should rethink where he is headed! He would have a real shot at PT (if he is as good as 'he' says or thinks he is!

how unpredictable and hard is recruiting?
2010-2013 inclusive
commits: 86
little to no impact (never played or minor PT) 46
significant impact: 29 (significant PT, even if not starter or star)

(i counted fast, so +- 1 or 2; but it gives an idea of how hard it is to guage recruits. Finding 'diamonds' in the rough such as 3 stars is more so.)

Hunter isn't going anywhere. He is still playing football.
