Maybe Fleck knows he has his pick, maybe he's waiting on Oregon, UCLA, Arizona or Arizona State to come open? Maybe the admin know something about him we don't, or maybe Jack just doesn't want to have to explain why he gave a 6 year extension than fired him less than 12 months later.
the complexities of those renewal contracts are considerable. Notre Dame is smart enough to make a 6 year deal and include protection clauses. Even if they didn't years ago....Ty Willingham and Charlie Weis brought them up to speed.

you raise an interesting point.....the original accusation of adultery was raised by three message board members against Fleck. The supposed woman in the affair sued the three board messengers....all three issued retractions. yet, we have ignoramouses on this board taking their places.
