Fisher benched Golson.

Out with a concussion
Thank you for the heads up.
It looked like they had a bit of a spat during last week's loss. Golson did his walk away and Fisher went after him.

As noted Golson was still suffering from the Concussion caused by an uncalled targeting during the GT game.

But there may be some controversy for Clemson. His backup is 18/24 for 302 yards and 2 TDs in just the first half and that's with two Olineman out as well as Dalvin Cook.

Do you know if cook's ankle injury is the same leg as his hamstring? Thanks.

True freshman Jacques Patrick had 24 carries for 162 yards and 3 TDs today. This guy is gonna be a beast. 6 foot 2, 235 lbs.
Ouch. That's impressive. Imo the biggest thing for young backs to learn is ball protection at this level. Patrick's size and strength is an advantage there. That''s a solid reload. Has he been in the backfield at the same time as Cook?

No, he's been on true freshmen riding the pine suspension until today. He was the number three RB last year per Rivals and ESPN. So, it was only a matter of time before he started to show up in games. He just needed to learn the offense. Jimbo pointed out that this was around the same time things clicked for Cook last year.

That's diabolical. #3 in the country is super impressive. Plus, he's a house.

Just as an update, immediately following the game Jimbo was indecisive as to who would play against Clemson between Golson and Sean Maguire (or SMAG as he's known to us). That's probably gamesmanship as it gives Clemson more to prepare for and Jimbo has never been indecisive if you critiqued him it would be that he was too decisive (I would rather Golson and Maguire have split time early on in the season).

Golson is definitely physically talented and is a much better runner and has slightly better short range accuracy than SMAG (plus I don't know if he did this for you, but in our last couple of games he's actually thrown solid throws with his off (left) hand when under pressure), but he is easily the dumbest quarterback both on the field and academically/intellectually we've ever had including Chris Rix. We're now halfway through the season and he's only learned about a third of Jimbo's playbook and simply cannot handle the check downs and pass protections.

"Honestly, I would've liked to see Golson," defensive coordinator Chuck Bullough said. "Because Golson doesn't check. (Maguire) is smart. This guy has a hell of an arm. Golson's thing is running around, and we had to gameplan for that."
