True, we can not do anything about those games. I am not confident but the Stanford D is sub par and their pass defense is horrendous. Under normal circumstances I would say the Irish win this game going away even with our crappy D. Since kelly has not adjusted in anything well we will probably take snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
Honestly, I think Shaw will have them fired up and one thing about Shaw's teams is they are tough. They'll punch us in the mouth and we will wither.
This season is all on the HC. Last season he did a very good job with the injuries 10-3 right in the mix ... This is on BK . Consensus was that t his team had a top flight QB, 2 solid RB's a cast on talented Wr's and 2 yes 2 top OL. The problem started a few years ago when BK should have fired BVG after the loss at SC 49-14. I was time to find a better DC. He also should have found an OC that knows how to run the ball out of his spread offense. His stubbornness to prove he always right will do him in. This schedule is garbage and they are 2-4. Stanford is down and ND might give them a game but ND under coach Kelly is learning how to lose. This is an F grade from him and his staff and it starts with him and will end with him leaving .When is the question but he has lost his team and it's tough to sell his BS to players in this program especially if they do not turn it around quickly. He has had a knack for starting bad and ending strong or starting great and ending bad. If he goes 3-9 as I predicted after the win vs D2 Syracuse. He will not be able to get this team back.

If Kelly risks getting fired, he just gets thrown in the coaching pool with a lot of other guys that were discarded by some unhappy employer. He is just another guy.

Just ftr, in '07, we had 4 total offensive lineman from the 5th, 4th & 3rd year classes. To have 4 offensive lineman out of your entire 5th, 4th & 3rd year is maybe the worst recruiting I've ever seen, and that was on Ty. If I'm not mistaken, only two lineman were lost from those classes thru injury or transfer. How the hell did he only have 6 lineman from three classes? Some classes have 5-6 per year, we had 4 from our 5th year seniors, 4th year seniors & true juniors. That's pitiful, and as bad as weis was, he can thank ty for that disastrous 3-9 '07 squad.
