I know there aren’t a ton of ESPN fans here but I’ve looked at their matchup predictor all season and found it to be fairly accurate (for ND games only). Looks like they have Ohio state favoured to win 55% to 45% for ND. This seems like they are predicting a much closer game than the 9 point spread.

I think OSU is wildly inconsistent and were lucky to escape Texas. I would love if we shock the nation and I just have a feeling that we do it.

Just re watched the Michigan game. They gave up over 100 yards rushing let there QB scramble and make plays something he was terrible at against the rest of the big ten. They also missed field goals and turned the ball over. If we can replicate Michigan and Love runs for over 100 and Riley goes for 50 on the ground and 150 through the air we can win this game.

Riley can't throw the picks against them..... He has to be effective in the air to keep their defense honest and give our running game the help it is absolutely going to need.

Agree. Michigan also had two terrible interceptions and got stuck at the goal line on 4th and an inch. OSU looked so beatable in that game--and was susceptible to the qb run. But then again, I guess they could watch the Northern Illinois game and be pretty confident:) going to watch Nebraska Ohio State highlights tonight so I can sleep soundly.

They need plays with him running out of the pocket and help negate their DL..get the playmakers out in space.
Start this early in the game and not until the 2nd half when we realize they can't block the front 4. That's my only complaint about Denbrock. The jet sweeps, roll outs, etc come later. Show it early and then when the D doesn't know what's coming dry to drop RL straight back and take a shot.

I don't pay any attention to these predictors, etc. Bottom line in my opinion is that top to bottom OSU overall has a ton of talent over us. Its going to take a perfect game by the players and a great game plan by the staff to be competitive and win. ND can't afford mistakes in this game whereas OSU can because of talent and explosiveness on offense. Razor thin margins for us.

That said. I read something interesting the other day that stuck with me. A big part of ND's success in these big games with UGA and PSU has been our ability to force opponents into our type of game and strengths. In other words, we want to drag them into a phone booth, slow the game down and chip away at them. "death by a thousand cuts" type of game. If we can do that against them, we may stand a really chance at pulling it off.

This team reminds me of my 2007 NY Giants team that beat the undefeated Patriots. Grit, pride, smarts, coaching, and camaraderie will win.
I just looked this up today. Giants were 12.5 point dogs to the 18-0 Patriots.

This isn’t David versus Goliath the way people portray. They lost two regular season games including to hated rival Michigan who was not great.

I like ND’s chances.
