with UGAs struggle and richt's seat a bit warm. I doubt we'd turn him away with book, right???

This was a retweet so I am not familiar with the source (disclaimer)

@RSENetwork: Georgia's 5 Star commit QB Jacob Eason, has reached out to Florida, Alabama, Michigan, and Notre Dame per @ChatSports

If Richt survives no chance. If he gone I would expect Eason to flip depending on the hire but I think Florida would be the biggest threat. UGA still wouldn't be out of it though as I expect their hire to replace Richt would be a good one. That is easily a top 5 job in the country.

Oh I completely agree. I'll be curious to see how this plays out, but I think if my memory is correct we were 'second' when he chose uga. So possibly an interesting development here.

Sal

this is an SEC deal. UM has a kid that is a near 5*
and listening to the kid in interviews, he is SEC.

I can definitely see him end up SEC but he started wavering right after he visited Michigan and Decomitted 2 weeks later. Michigan leads now but after all his visits happen we will see

NO!
If Kizer was a junior or senior then sure go after him.
ND has a mess on paper next year with Malik, Wimbush in the mix.....

But in reality its no mess whatsoever. Kizer is the guy at least until the end of next year.

Malik will transfer or find another position to play. Wimbush hopefully sticks around but nobody has any idea if Kizer will leave early or not.

Kelly doesn't need to bring in another highly touted recruit until he figures out his own mess first.

THat's not a mess, it's a good problem if handled properly. Malik or Kizer win out in fall camp, other is back up, red shirt wimbush.

You're talking about Eason Perse?

yes Sal; I cannot think why this kid would consider UM. He better consider that if he is worried about Richt leaving, it is no less likely that he will not play out his career for Harbaugh!
And he is a pro style who might want a favorable climate. That he chose UGA and did so early indicates he is thinking of the NFL more so than the 40 yr factor?

Having elite talent in abundance at the most critical position is not a mess or a problem.

Yeah so I addressed Eason early on saying it comes down to Richt and if Richt goes I expect Florida to be the landing spot...

Someone else asked about Kareem Walker the RB that decommitted from Ohio St and my response to that question. Just gotta keep up man.

I was told by several people that the Walker kid was " encouraged " to look elsewhere by Ohio State.

Having seen him play I can see that happening.

Ohio St. didn't want him visiting Michigan, once he visited Michigan and it was clear he was wavering was when Urban told him he had to either firm up or look elsewhere and then this happened. Ohio St. fans expressed a lot of butt hurt over losing him. He may be overrated but they wanted him until they realized he was mentally already gone.

well the thread title is ...next thing you be telling me Eisenhower isn't President anymore!

I didn't say it was a problem did I?

But if you think in 2015 5 star recruits are going to just wait 3 years before sniffing playing time you are sadly mistaken.
Then once they transfer, now what? What if both transfer? Then it becomes a mess because you have the elite starter and no good backup.
They just need to get out of this pickle with elite talent so close together in eligibility.

Ideally you want plug and play. One leaves next one plugged in and off we go not missing a beat.

I would much rather see him right now spend all the time trying to staple down defense. We have so much talent on offense we need to keep the defensive recruiting momentum going.
Some highly recruited safeties would be nice. Actually all of it. D line...all of it.

Present day football is about who can slow the other team down a little bit more. Everyone can score. There is no shutting down an offense any more.

these days you need 1 good year and a good showing at the combine. So if your a QB and you play year 3 followed by a good combine, your golden with less risk of injury!

Easily? It's not a top five job by any means. Maybe top 10 or 12 but not top five. Texas, Florida State, Florida, USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma, LSU, and ND are the top eight jobs. I'll go Texas A & M at nine and Georgia 10.

I would argue that Georgia is better then OU, ND, A&M, and both Florida Schools. Georgia can pay as much or more then any of those schools. Georgia doesn't have to deal with crazy expectations from the fan base that some of those schools have. Georgia is the top dog and only dog in a state that produced over 65 D1 athletes a year and has the ability to build a fence around the state when necessary in some recruiting classes. Georgia also plays in the conference that top kids want to be in, but they play in the much more winnable division.

UGA is a good job. Top 20? Sure, but no where near top five.

Top Five are:

ND
Bama
Texas
USC
Ohio State

^^^^^. In no specific order, but followed by:

LSU
Florida
Michigan
Oklahoma

Maybe about here you can stay talking UGA. Expect Richt to go to Miami and Fisher to go to UGA.

UGA is better then Michigan and OU for sure. Probably better then Florida and is equal to or better then LSU, TEXAS and USC...

UGA has as good or better facilities then just about anyone on that list other then Texas

UGA will pay as much or more then anyone on that list if they have to

UGA has no competition in a recruiting territory that better then all but Texas, Florida and California. Where each of the schools on that list have stiff competition for recruits.

UGA as Richt's existence has proven does not have crazy expectations for the team's competitiveness unlike those other schools.

UGA plays in a very winnable division in the conference that is closest to being an AQ for the playoffs.

I think the top 10 jobs are all pretty arguable and would be something fun to talk about around a bottle of whiskey afterwork but I have UGA as my # 5.

Bama
Texas
ND
Ohio St.
UGA

LSU, Florida, Michigan, USC, Florida St., OU are teams I could see an argument from. All top half SEC fans tend to think their school is a top job so I could see people from War Eagle and Rocky Top trying to stake claims.

ND is a conundrum; a top job that few elite coaches pursue.

How is that not true? Every time there is a discussion about BK their are multiple people on the board asking who would you replace him with because the thought it that elite coaches that are as good or potentially better then BK aren't coming to ND. Issues facing ND when it comes to attracting top end coaches - Salary, salary for assistants, recruiting restrictions from the school, fan expectations, perception regarding path to playoffs.

Eason might be a 5 star, but he doesn't seem like he would fit ND's system. Doesn't seem very mobile.

The kid Book looks really good and will gain a star. Sitting for a year wont bother him and he will compete the year after.

Sal, seems like thre are always about ten schools in the top five. Really hard to narrow because of so many variable, but Georgia is clearly one of these.

I agree with that.. the top 10-12 jobs in the Country are all going to have +/- that make them ideal or not... UGA is just up there for me.

Sa

did you see SW now cloudy on Hayes! oye! this kid!
Ohio State is making a push. He is visiting there this weekend and Sparty next weeked, after that I don't see Oregon or LSU as real threats right now. The longer it goes from ND's OV the worse that it looks for ND. That being said ESB last year seemed to be looking for any reason he could to stay west and ended up settling in with ND, if he doesn't commit to the others before Christmas I think that is good for us as he will potentially visit for the banquet again.

Hayes ...tho did commit to USC; that is on the opposite 'values' spectrum from ND but on the same spectrum as tOSU!
Educational burdens seem not to be something that is not a 'plus' in this recruitment.

this kid is a hard one to read!
