And the backup just threw one up for grabs that they were lucky to catch for a td.

Backup Fromm is another blue chip recruit who pushed Eason quite a bit in the spring. They won't lose much.

They are going to run the ball down our throats so its irrelevant. Their new O line coach is from Arkansas and he has a good reputation etc. I would put an extra guy in the box and also try to confuse the new QB.

I agree that GA will attempt to power it down ND's throat. It is important for the Irish to start fast and take GA out of their game plan if at al possible. Stop GA's running game and don't give up the big play on the pass and ND has a good chance.

Eason out 6-8 weeks according to some sound off board poster.

Everything in this thread is spot on. Eason is an elite talent, but fans have a quiet confidence in Fromm. He is a gamer.

That said, it's no secret what we'll try to do - pound the ball with our stud RBs, play solid D, and wear you down for 4 quarters.

Excited to watch your OL versus our front 7. That should be a tremendous matchup.

After watching the Georgia game, I'm not sure their offensive line is going to power anything down our throat. For the most part, they really weren't doing that against App. St.'s undersized 3 man front (that lacked much, if any, rotation on a hot day). I really expected to see Georgia push the LOS more. IMO, Fromm did a great job of coming out and connecting on some passes, which is what opened up Georgia's running game.

Chubb and Michel are going to be tough to bring down in the open field - that will be a problem. Our defense may have a tougher time with the outside runs and keeping TE's covered over the middle. We can't afford whiff tackles.

That's how it was last year for us too - we would chip away until Chubb / Michel would eventually break a few. I've heard we are getting one of our OG back which might help us in that area.

"Expecting" Riley Ridley - our #1 WR back this week too....

Their oline stinks. Every Uga fan knows that. They have to win in spite of them until some highly prized frosh are ready to take over.

Yeah, I wasn't dismissing Georgia's overall running game. I expect your guys to break some runs. I just don't expect to see your offensive line pushing our guys around all day. Likewise, I don't see our guys pushing your defensive line around either. We'll have to earn our yards. We did run a lot of multiple TE's sets Saturday, which is something you didn't face from App. State.

You guys gonna have Aaron Davis and Malkom Parrish ready to start Saturday?

Aaron Davis should be fine, not sure on Parrish.

Your observations are line with what we see, in terms of running repeatedly into a stacked box with an overmatched OL. Power running is fine, but some creativity would be nice, and that's our biggest complaint around playcalling.

Sorry to hear about your QB, that sucks, but I guess better sooner than in the middle of the year. That said good luck and let's pray for a great, injury free game!

Hope so. Going deep into the 4th with a chance to beat a top 5-12 is all any fanbase can ask of the program they root for. I met a Georgia fan today (not uncommon in South Carolina though) and he couldn't have been more genuine and respectful of the Irish. Even saying that he is going to make sure he's in Athens next year.

Myself I've watched a lot of Bulldog games growing up. Eric Zeier and Garrison Hearst is how far back I go. UGA's tv play by play man was incredible in those days.

Best of luck.
