DT Donovan Jeter Commits to Michigan

wash rinse repeat as in DL recruiting sucks?! again and again and again and again
Hello Jack, how about another vote of confidence?

You and your staff resemble the Michael Keaton dream team characters! pathetic!

Jeter has made two official visits and two verbals. Maybe he sticks with Michigan maybe he doesn't.

"2017 Notre Dame running back commit C.J. Holmes said he was not surprised by the defensive lineman's sudden withdrawal.

“You’re shocked, because it’s out of the blue," Holmes said. "But honestly, he committed very quickly. I didn’t know how sure he really was with his commitment.

"It didn’t seem like there was a whole lot of evaluation that went into it. I wasn’t very surprised, to be honest.”

"We are doing great, if he didn't like ND then that's up to him," defensive tackle commit Kurt Hinish added in a message to the Tribune. "We are not mad at him we obviously want the best for everyone. Go Irish."

I personally believe we should recruit 2 nose guards in the mold of Chris Zorich and Sheldon Day. Our line has no penetration into the backfield. We need that shorter quicker d lineman that lifts man hole covers for weights if you catch my drift.

That's true he's good everywhere. Kelly on the other hand isn't even good at coaching. At least you guys have the 2nd best all time win percentage thanks to Kelly. Second counts for something right?
Hardballs is the number one booger picker and eater in the world. Men of Michigan get brain damage if you bump their elbow!

Which ND recruit should UM pick off next, you know, in the interest of getting Kelly fired?
You need to find guys who eat boogers - do you have any sons who play since the apple doesn't fall far from the tree? Zero for booger Bo! Cancun sucks!

so we have a fan of the Michigan whores of annie whore arbor on our board talking smack. wasn't it just a couple of years ago that your Michigan whores had a bad football program

Jeter was not eligible to come to Notre Dame without a foreign language credit which he decided was too much effort to do. He can talk all he wants about ND but the fact is without effort on his part he was not getting in anyways.

Sounds like his little pride was hurt due to the academic rejection- he's going with his Nose on this one Picking Michigan.

With all the drama of the past week over this situation, at the end of the day it just came down to the kid not wanting to take a foreign language in his senior year.

Here we go. This is such an embarrassing take. Just stop already.

What's embarrassing about it?

academic records are private matters at EVERY school. Posters on message boards are not privy to high school records. Sorry it just doesn't work that way. Secondly, for kids that have borderline transcripts, coaches extend conditional offers (i.e., not commitable) until academic requirements are met. ND just took Jeter's commitment about a month ago. Since then the team has floundered on the field and the kid got spooked. It is what it is. But it's not appropriate to now say (without any basis in fact) that DJ didn't meet academic standards. It's not true and it comes across just as it is - sour grapes. Btw there will likely be more de-commitments in the coming weeks. Do you plan to disparage every kid who plans to go elsewhere? Embarrassing indeed.

I had read the same thing after he decomitted about him deciding he didn't want to take a second foreign language course. well i'm moving on from this kid as our irish are still in very good or great shape with other elite kids like two 2018 prospects from California that are rated top ten overall nationally at there positions that might be coming in for the Miami and they are friends with new irish verbal hicks

No one is talking about a kid's academic records or or academic ability. Posters have merely mentioned that the young man chose to forgo taking a foreign language course necessary to get in to ND. Not a big deal.

The kid deciding he didn't want to take a foreign language this year is not an "academic record". It's not like somebody in admissions put his transcript on the internet.

and how do you know this because I follow recruiting as closely as anybody on this board and have heard nothing but good things coming from each and every irish verbal when it comes staying or wanting to look around. not saying we won't lose one or two in jan or feb but have not heard anything about any kids leaving as of now as you claim we'll have in the coming weeks. please name the kids you claim we'll likely lose in the coming weeks

No doubt that is a case of sour grapes (which, coincidentally, are the same color as Kelly's head!).
Yeah OK. Considering that our Rivals staff is about the most conservative group you will find in college sports, and that they reported this well before Jeter ever set foot on Michigan's campus, I will go with them.

I don't "know this" hence my use of the word "likely." What I do "know" is that success in recruiting is highly correlated to success on the field. It is highly likely that ND experiences more losses than wins over the next 5 weeks based upon performance so far this year. If that happens, no bowl and more "likely" defections. We shall see.

another fact is, ND cannot bring in the elite football prospects; and now they are not bringing in the sub-elite prospects.

So, clearly a very large part if ND's inevitable further decline is the direct result of a value decision.

It will be interesting to see how the NBC ratings are for this season. If the ratings decline, then sponsorship declines and the slippery gets stepper and... Eventualky it it a path of no return.

So It behooves ND fans to avoid getting into trash talking with fans from the 'power' teams such as the University of Harbaugh.

It indeed was a 'language requirement' thing. If the kid was forthright he should come right out with that instead of the trash talk. Players that carry themselves this way rarely pan out. Lazy/Unmotivated are not temporary conditions.
He and the boogerman are meant for each other. I hope Harbaugh shakes hands with him!
