Drew Tranquill is a stud---I expect a Harrison Smith type senior year. Or he may be moved to linebacker. he made a ton of hard tackles.

*** Josh Adams played with a ton of heart and explosiveness. If everyone played as hard as he did we may have won.

Drue Tranquill should be a captain next year on defense and Josh Adams should be named Captain on offense.

*** I hope Kizer goes pro---he is not very good as a college QB. I hope Brandon Wimbush is our starter next year.

It's hard to be down on Kizer considering the unknowns to us What's be taught by the QB coach, and what's happening on the field.....
Is it possible that their is turmoil with the HC, and the assistants?
Kizer is not NFL ready considering he's never spent one snap in college under center for starter's

It could be very possible the coaching has hurt Kizer. Since there are so many holes in Kizers game. He constantly over or under throws wide open receivers. He has thrown pick sixes in consecutive games. He has played only one great game in his career--last year against Pitt where he threw for 5 TD'S. He completely disappears in second halfs of games. Tommy Rees who has a lot less natural talent was a better college QB than Kizer. Kizer has not progressed at all. And it could very well be because of bad coaching. But I don't feel sorry for him because he will probably get a huge pro contract.

Kizer excels at these kind of throws, and Fuller was the perfect compliment. Kizer doesn't have anyone like Fuller this year. Kizer made bad decisions last year, when under pressure or in the red zone, and nothing has changed. He is slow through his progressions and needs an inordinate amount of time to pull the trigger, and that was true last year as well. It's not that he has regressed, it is more to the point that he hasn't improved. This and the absence of Fuller has led to a really disappointing season. I also postedreviously that I hope Kizer goes pro as I want Wimbush to be given an opportunity to lead this team, hopefully with a new HC.

Telx, I hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving. I believe the Irish can have a great year with Wimbush next year. He is the fastest running quarterback ND has ever had, I think, and he has a rocket of an arm. And it will be his third year with ND so he should be very mature. We just need to get the coaching settled.

Thanks Bodi and the same for you and yours. First USC game in memory that I didn't have to worry about being too loud or profane...just had little expectation that we would play a great error free game and compete; not for lack of effort, but execution sucked. Been reading for two years how talented Wimbush is, and it is time he be given the chance to lead the offense. We have enough weapons on offense to be really dangerous next year, and our young defensive players got a lot of playing experience which will be huge next season, but the team needs leadership on the field, something lacking on both sides of the line this year. Josh and Drue would be a good place to start looking for this.

The dream appears dead guys. Kelly isn't leaving ND this year. He has enough weapons with the right hires to stick around at ND. He's up and going at 3:30 ET this morning and releases a statement about not going anywhere but will remain at ND.

I say put 10 lbs. or so on Tranquill and move him to SAM linebacker. He will do well there.

Drew Tranquill should be the captain of the practice squad and be happy with that.he simply sucks he's to small and slow.This is one of the reasons were 4-8.he has hustle but no real big time skills.

Too small? He's 6-2 and goes 225 lbs. How much bigger do you want a safety to be? He may be a step slow to help cover WRs, but that's why I suggested he add 10 lbs. and get moved to SAM. I feel he's being played out of position.

Drue Tranquil isn't the most gifted athlete, but he has above average playmaking abilities. He also has one component key to every team - he plays with a lot of heart and emotion.

Good luck with that recruiting coach Kelly has give other coaches enough ammo to recruit against ND

Drue is being asked to play the wrong position based on team need. I think he would be a really good Sam, and not sure he even needs to add to his 225 pounds. The kid has lost a step with his two knee surgeries, and he is a liability on deep pass plays, but he would be a very fast Sam capable of dropping back in coverage, etc...and he plays with toughness and attitude. Hard working mentally tough kid who plays with heart and attitude is exactly the type you want as a captain and leader on the field.
