Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven four-star safety Donte' Vaughn is set to arrive in South Bend for an unofficial visit on Friday. Vaughn, who is being recruited by Notre Dame as a cornerback, will be on campus for the second time this summer, only this time he'll be with his father. The two will stay overnight with a majority of the visit taking place on Saturday.
Vaughn told Blue & Gold Illustrated on Thursday, that the Irish are one of his top schools, but he doesn't plan to make any type of commitment until his birthday in October. He did however add that he is set to take an official visit to Notre Dame for the Texas game on Sept. 5.
The 6-2, 195-pound Vaughn is ranked as the nation's No. 250 overall prospect in the country. The Irish coaches saw him twice in the spring, and again at the Sound Mind Sound Body camp in June. Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Ole Miss are also involved.
