College football is unique in that from the moment the season starts, you got 130 teams in a do or die like tournament for the very top spot of the standings.

There's no 2nd place in college football.
There's no multi-loss championship seasons in college football.
There's maybe a 2nd chance if enough other teams F up more than you.

You got to be one of the very best teams in the country from the moment you walk on that field week 1, you got be great in all facets of your program in order to have any reasonable shot at winning a national title.

The fact that ND goes into the season immediately handicapped by their roster -- because they are getting dominated by a handful of teams on the recruiting trail every cycle -- is pretty much them waving a white flag before the season even gets started.

Are there any plans with the incoming AD & President to fix it?

You are totally clueless
Your premise is conceptually flawed

Your ignorance knows no bounds !

Stop pretending that you are a Notre Dame fan. All you do is criticize the players, the coaches, the administration and the fans. You are beyond sickening.

Shut up you clown

When ND has been like 0-million vs the top 5 in college football over the last however many years, it should feel uneasy among the fan base. Fans should be shifting in their chairs getting uncomfortable. People should be getting antsy.

I can't be the only one entirely exasperated with the fact that the ND football program has been spinning its wheels for decade after decade while going nowhere in the process.

This isn't a time to sit around and play patty cake and share niceties.

Not an ND fan. Should be following Bama, UGA or OSU.

Didn‘t Notre Dame go undefeated in several regular seasons and compete in the National Championship playoffs

Is that your definition of “going nowhere” ?

You’re clueless

Yes, it's sooooo easy to win a Natty.

I think you should shop yourself to all the big-time programs as an advisor.

Being critical of your team does not mean one is not a fan of said team. Being a fan is not about blindly supporting your team no matter what. Being a true fan can be demanding you want better for the players and the fan base.

Chase NEVER says a single good thing about ND. He regularly trashes anything and everything about the school, including players, coaches, administration and fans. Real fans do say good things about the school from time to time. And real fans don't trash every aspect of the school constantly.

Don't bet on it.

Many years ago Fr. Hesburgh said " it's only a game, nothing less, nothing more ". Of course we like to win, but ND is first and foremost an academic institution and the administration and faculty expect athletes to be students first, unlike what you see at schools like Alabama.

Yes you are the only one totally exasperated and pathetic

With this new playoff format you can fart around the first couple of games before it hurts you.
Now by recruiting are you talking about being out spent (buying)for player players?

I don't know if he's 'beyond sickening'. That's quite a leap from being a provocateur, or troll I suppose is the word for it, who at least makes conversational posts that could be the subject of halfway reasonable debate or discussion, even if he really is merely trying to enrage ND fans....

To a transcendently nauseating, disgusting, indeed sickening human being. I guess you're giving him his money's worth, huh.....

The problem with Chase is that the only thing he knows about Notre Dame is that it has a football team.

All I can say is my Dr. Used the ‘R’ word. At my last visit!

Michigan (the team that just won the title) never had a class inside of the top 13 in the last 4 years. There's more to recruiting than star rating (especially with NIL and the portal playing such a big part every year now)

The two main classes for Freeman however were #8 in 2024 and currently #1 in 2025.

So not only are your incoherent rants about how Notre Dame doesn't recruit well enough to win stupid and annoying, they are also completely untrue. Stick to your f+ bs and stop littering this board with more of your recruiting nonsense.

Here's what a 17 year old 5 star (who been told since he was 12 that if keeps playing football well, He'll make millions in the NFL) hears from Notre Dame...Which one would you want to change to get better athletes?

1. You'll need to keep your GPA up in HS, take second language classes, and do well on testing
2. You'll need to go to real classes at ND to get a real major, keep a minimum GPA, and graduate in 3 years to maintain our national leadership in athlete graduation.
3. You'll need to live in a student body dorm on campus for first three years in wintery South Bend IN
4. You'll need to follow the zero-tolerance parietal rules of a Catholic University (no sexual activities on campus)
5. You're expected to do the same community service as other students
6. You wont have access to a multi-million dollar payroll of position "assistants and consultants" to augment the limited coaching staff.
7. We don't have the amount of NIL incentives that other schools are offering
8. We dont take undergraduate transfers
9. You may be the only 5 star on the team and double teamed or avoided during your entire time here - driving your stats down, while other teams have the talent to allow you to excel in position isolation when surrounded by equal talent.

How many current 5 and 4 stars want this path to the NFL? What would you change?

I respect every kid who make this decision, and understand the others who pass...

We also have a ton to offer

That's why we recruit at a top 10 level
