Going to take my best shot at the depth ND depth Chart vs Texas. At positions where I list more than 2 players in the 2-deep of the depth chart, it is because I expect said player to be a substantial contributor or an important substitute in substitution package.

Note: You will see several players listed in multiple spots. That's because no published "2-deep" is ever legitimate. What I'm trying to articulate is the actual rotation and in some cases, who I believe will fill in if an injury occurs.

I love the talent on both sides of the ball! I am not big on following stars....just film, but appears to be mostly 4 (and a couple of five) star depth. There are not many teams on our schedule that will field more talent (USC?). It is nice to see ND reloading and not rebuilding. They lost plenty of big time starters from last year, but could potentially be stronger on both sides of the ball. I just hope it does not take a couple games to gel as @Texas does not give you much room for error.

Thanks.

The Texas depth chart may have a true freshman starting at QB. He would be starting at home but good luck with that.

I see Coney beating out Martini

Very well could be, but I have a lot of questions about Coney's off season. His shoulder injury was really bad and I know he missed a lot of time in strength and conditioning (upper body). Martini was also injured, but I don't think his progress of "getting back" took as long.

Certainly was one of the positions I thought most about, however, so point well taken. Good observation.

Texas's biggest weaknesses are along both sides of the LOS and at QB.

Despite those being the hardest positions for True Frosh to come into and start....Texas is looking at doing just that with at least 2-3 Frosh (starting) plus several more in major rotational positions

Additionally, I think Notre Dame has a very deep group with a large range of skillsets, that allows for quite a bit of variety in deployment.

Given those facts, I would use a lineup that attackes the LOS on both sides of the ball and forces the Texas QB to beat you himself.
