Jackson, who had 18 tackles, 3.5 sacks and an interception, had played in seven of the Hurricanes’ eight games. His 7.5 tackles for loss tied him for the team lead with sophomore Joe Jackson. He is out for the season as a result of knee surgery this week.

Receiver Dionte Mullins was not seen during the media viewing portion of Tuesday’s practice.
Mullins had four catches in Miami’s first eight games, and posted a pair of tweets this weekend voicing his displeasure with how the season has gone for him. In one tweet he wrote, “It’s crazy how this man can’t give me no legit reason why he not playing me.” In another he wrote, “When you tell a coach about himself, he tells you to leave.”

Miami is fragile. They want to have swagger but they do not have the depth nor front line talent to back it up. Losing your leading defensive lineman hurts any team. It hurts them more. If we punch them in the mouth and keep punching them in the mouth they will not be able to hold up.

I would love to see the theme of domination play out in this game. GO IRISH!!!

I'm curious how a finesse Miami team will respond to a physical ND team. They have not seen a team like ND. Not saying they can't but it's not a style of ball they've seen this year.

Miami is Fragile?? Please explain. Because a guy that has not gotten any playing team has been removed from the team? Richt does not play that game. We have many WR's in front of Mullen. He is probably #7 or 8 of 9. So No his departure does not hurt us. Demetrius Jackson Injury will hurt some but we are deep at the DE position. So we are not as worried as you are making it seem. Not too mention Jackson' backup got a sack and a couple of QB hurries as soon as he got in the game (and he's a freshman).

This is true, Miami has a good dline and they have depth there. Statistically they are good even if individual stats dot reflect that. That because they do a lot of rotation. I wonder if Kelly will try to run the hurry up offense to keep them on the field. If Miami can stop our run, it's going to be a long day.

Nice to know that DJ landed on his feet in Miami after getting released by the Celtics.

I disagree that Miami is a deep team. My comment about them being fragile is that a loss to a significant contributor on their D-line could spell much more dire consequences than it could to a team with greater depth (Alabama or Clemson). The fact that Miami's secondary is responsible for so many of their tackles is generally an ominous sign when the team they are going up against is a bunch of road graders that tend to do very well when their RBs get to the second level. Maybe Miami's lack of size on defense will not be a huge factor. Goodness knows we have seen plenty of teams over the years that we have heavily outsized, but not been able to establish the run on. This year however has been different. I think this game is very akin to the USC game. USC lost one of their key D-lineman the week of the game due to a concussion as a result of a multi-car accident, and we had great success running the ball against them. I do not believe this game will be close, but that is why we play the games. GO IRISH!!!

I sure hope you're right chitown. We are going into a very hostile environment and they do have some talent. But like u said, they've not seen a team like ND this year. I woukd like to go in and punch them right in the mouth early and see how they respond. I won't make a prediction but I don't think it will be a blow out.

Bigger, stronger, faster and deeper... ND rolls like they have in every other game save UGA. I agree with you: they’re super ready!
