Only one defensive line recruit ,D Ewell .That's it . Problem ,so far no real game changers . No blue chippers .meanwhile Alabama ,Ohio State ,etc are reloading with difference makers , none in sight for ND . Hard to swallow the reality and I root every game for ND , no matter .

What changes next year ? A 8-4 season with no possibility of Final 4 in the near future ( 4-5 years) . Recruiting is not there for ND . But as I have said , I'm a die hard fan

stop looking at top tier teams!

ND is not one.

Compare to Purdue, Rutgers, Minnesota, NW, Vandy, Duke....

This is where the ND 'peers' are.

Swarbrick and Kelly have destroyed Notre Dame football.

Pers, you are like a bad song that gets stuck in your head.

3-9, 7-6, 6-6 = the record you boy Charlie had his last three years...
That is destroying ND football!

For Kelly: he's had a 12-1, 10-3, 9-4 in his seven years.... then three 8-4 and one aberration.. Mediocre? Yes. Can we do better? Yes. But destroying is a bit of an overstatement...

DL recruiting is embarrassing. You have to win the line on scrimmage to compete. We do not..

stu

you mean well, but you are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

those that are not vigilant are going to be blindsided by the recruiting shortcomings, in spite of the info put out.

Jones, Rochelle are gone. Cage likely gone. There is no depth. Recruits not on campus are now already 'needed'.
Prospects are very standoffish when considering ND.
The D is FUBAR.
If DK goes draft, if MZ is gone and you rely on a 1st year starter who is called upon to carry a load in the run game, risking injury, then you damned well better get the 'excuse table' updated!

Ewell, MaCollister and Hinish on the way in. I wanted Cage the younger as well. Wonder id we could get him.

DHayes, Okwara, Ade and Kareem from last year.

Tillery, Taylor, MDT and Tiassum from the 2014 class.

Upper classmen are Trumbetti, JHayes, Cage, Bonner and Mokwuah. If Cage's concussions end his career, that would really hurt.

We have bodies and talent but it is mostly potential as opposed to proven. DL coach has a challenge.

We have enough guys to win a minimum of 9 games next year. Have a solid season we will get our share of recruits how they develop is another question not every player turns into a stud. Where me and some of these posters on this board differ is greatness doesn't come down to a coach if you're getting playing time. Its up to the individual and how hard they work barring injuries.

Other than 2012 undefeated regular season and this past season , we have basically won a little more than 60% of our games in the other 5 seasons and in some of those wins ,we struggled against teams we should have handled easily ,lost some ,won some and in my opinion, that has been the scenario of the last 7 years .
