Throwing a name out for discussion. Had a lot of success as a DC for Pitt, started off stellar at Auburn in '08 before their season tanked, but still finished top 30 in most categories.
Fiery guy, players seem to love him, and has a reputation as a recruiter. Has strong ties to midwest and south (is DB coach now at Arkansas) and had some success out West. Had some big wins at ISU but obviously not enough, and let's face it they're kind of the Purdue of the Big 12.
There was some word that Kelly had a name or two in mind, so who knows, maybe he's a name on BK's list? I hadn't seen his name mentioned so curious if anyone has a strong opinion about him either way, any things that may make him a good or bad fit for ND. Not the home run everyone's looking for, but seems like a very solid coach with a lot of passion. Not a ton of him on Youtube, but stuff that's out there he comes across as fiery and, again, players seem to love him. I recall Allen Lazard gushed about the guy when we recruited him. Link below.
