Can he have a Tuitt-like sophomore season when Stephon garnered 47 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 12 sacks in a single season (2012?) We must remember Tuitt had Nix, Schwenke, Kappy and Freshman Sheldon Day alongside him... Which of Tillery, Bonner, Hayes, Tumbetti will step up? And will there be any Day-like surprises from the underclassman? The good thing is that they are working against the best offensive line they will see all year every day in practice. That really helped the d-line in 2012.

And... they have their coach back in Elston!

I'm Bodi-istic on this group.

I truly believe you will see major improvement from this entire group.... they were never trained like that have been now. Those strengths gains will be a whole new dimension to their game. Hayes is more athletic than Tuitt but not as powerful I think he can produce that many sacks this year though. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in some disguised drop coverage

Different players with different teammates to help them.

Very encouraging that DHayes has almost 2 years of adding armor to his frame and playing a season without getting injured.

Hard to say if he is ready to take that big step forward. He really is a great athlete with off the edge speed and size. He could explode this year but it is all too early to really know with new scheme and new DL guys.

On both offense and defense, we aren't going to really have a good feel for how well they will gel until half the season has passed I think. Individual players may stick out though. DHayes is a good candidate for that slot I think.

I think the DE position can be one of strength this season. Jay Hayes has been on of the bright spots this fall as has Trumbetti. I think Trumbetti can now play both positions which will be needed.

If they dont dominate Temple to start then it will be an uphill battle from there.

Bodi, I agree. Had unrealistic expectations that he could contribute last season. Still not a starter, but recent reports I've read say he is having a very good Fall. The rotation among D Hayes, Trumbetti, J Hayes and Kareem will be interesting. The better Kareem plays, the greater flexibility for playing J Hayes inside.

I read where though Darnell Ewell has a higher ceiling than Hinnish and the Hawian he might not play as much because he came from a smaller school than them and he will have to learn more---They said Louis Nix had the same issue. Hopefully Ewell picks everything up quick. Nix became a force as a sophmore.

I think DE will be a strength with the Hayes', Trumbetti, Khareem and Adi/Okwara on passing downs. My concern is the depth at DT with Cage out and Taylor nursing an injury. MDT, Bonner, Pete and Tiassum terrify me. I think we'll see a lot of Jay Hayes inside.
