Cowherd and Ohio State

Why does this fool have such a hard-on for the Buckeyes? They got lit up for 55 big ones by freakin' Iowa and he thinks nothing of it, yet he's been running his mouth about Miami crushing our boys.

What exactly do you call a 55-24 score? A close one?

He says things just to get a rise out of people, and he's very good at it.

Cowherd believes sports are better when the Yankees, Lakers, Canadiens, Packers, USC football, UNC basketball and UConn WBasketball are winning the championships. He doesn't like upstarts or interlopers.

He is just trying to get people and fan bases talking about him...... which it is obviously working.

Remember Mark May? Him and Lou obviously played both sides of the ND fan base but what made me laugh was I knew like 4 different people that were fans of different teams and we were all certain that Mark May had it out for only our program!

I would catch myself debating just who he hated the most.... and I quickly realized that was his plan.

Did yall listen to the explanation? He isn't saying Ohio State should be in there he is saying they are in a good position to get that 4th spot...so much butt hurt about Cowherd all the time but this isn't really the spot. He basis the statement on the belief that...

Bama wins out --> Means Georgia gets a second loss, Auburn gets a third loss
Clemson/Miami eliminates 1 --> Both aren't getting in his mind even if Clemson wins close one
OU --> Assumes they win out they are team 3 but they have two tough games
Last Spot --> Not Wisconsin b/c Ohio St. would beat them, ND he mentions as being ahead of them now but says that he could see Ohio State w/wins against Michigan and Wiskey (both ranked) edging out ND in the end who would just add a win against Stanford.

Honestly thats possible.

In that scenario, how would OSU be ahead of the Miami/Clemson loser or Georgia? Especially if it's Miami losing to drop to 11-1. Miami would have one loss against a playoff team, OSU has two losses, including getting blown out by an unranked team and losing decisively to a playoff team. I think OSU would need Clemson and/or Miami to lose BEFORE the ACCCG, then lose again in the ACCCG. As to Georgia, they'd have two high quality losses (Bama & Auburn), nothing approaching getting blown out by an unranked Iowa team. And they'd have wins against ND & Mississippi State.

They only way to keep anyone in the sports media, or local pubs for that matter, from talking about ND losing like last Saturday is not to lose like last Saturday. I'm still really unhappy with the complete unprepared no- show this staff and team displayed last Saturday and I'm not even in the sports media.

Cowerd is a diehard UOJ fan and hates the Irish. He has been washed up since he left ESPN.

Miami would be 12-1 unless you are penciling in losses to UVA or Pitt (would be a very Pitt thing to do).

I just don't see it because this time they would have to bump a 2 loss Ohio above a couple of 1 loss teams and probably UCF.

I honestly do not see OSU getting there over a two-loss ND. Their body of work is 'shaky' at best and the blow-out victory by Iowa cannot be overlooked. Plus, the committee may be a little shell shocked after jumping them in over PSU last year only to see them get clobbered 31-0 in the first round.

If ND rights the ship and gets back to their physical style of play on both sides of the ball then they will be the top two-loss team at the end.

Sure there are issues with that scenario. I think that the theory is if Clemson loses to Miami (Best case for Ohio St.) then Clemson's wins aren't better then Ohio St's. If Miami losses they will have a better loss but they will not have as many quality of wins to compete.

Miami will have only one loss, versus OSU having two, and Miami's only loss is to a playoff team who is the defending national champion. If Miami loses to Clemson 52-3, that might be a different story, but if they lose a close game I don't see any way OSU gets ahead of them.

I mean sure but Ohio State will be a conference champ with 3-4 more wins over teams ranked in the CFP T25. I am not saying Ohio State makes it if they win out, I am just saying that Cowherd's statement in this instance isn't that far fetched.

The committee is human too. Even if they say that each year stands totally on its own, in the dark recesses of their minds they will remember putting OSU in, after not even winning their division last year, and then have them get embarrassed by Clemson in a terrible semifinal game.

Ok that could be true. My point still stands though. Lot of spots where you can complain about Cowherd, this spot just seems like a dumb one to pick and its clear OP didnt even listen to it.

My advice to the OP -- drink heavily -- and simply don't listen to Cowturd.
