Got in from out of town and watched the Irish V-Tech game last night. A few thoughts (Note the that the highest level I have coached football is high school freshman, so I am not claiming any special expertise, just my observations.)
I don't know who your d-back coach is but...fire him. On many plays the d-backs were 10 years back. Of other ND dropped 7 (yes 7) but when the d-backs released their assignments the safeties did not make a move to pick them up, These two things cost you dearly.

Dropped balls also killed you, has this been an issue all year?

Finally, I am not one to blame the officials, I consider it loser talk but...you got hosed. Who knows the impact of the double miss on hitting the QB while sliding and targeting calls was but the imaginary PI cost a score that was the difference in the game.

All good observations Beach. Although there are some who want coach Todd Lyght fired, I'm not one of them. Why? Well when you have up to 4 true freshman playing CB and S positions there will be growing pains. Max Redfield's well deserved dismissal along with our #2 (Butler) and #3 CB (Crawford) being hurt has been IMO the single biggest downfall to the D outside of BVG's scheme.

Ahh did not know they were all freshman. To me it looked like they had the skill, they were just out of position.

Fire the D back coach but not the one whose created this mess?

The Irish are bad this season SC is playing like a top 10 team. It's simple SCs players are buying g into the system, and it works there. Coach Kelly can't develop his system at nd after 7 seasons (maybe somewhere else)
