Kizer looked average and almost afraid to make proper looks. D had no heart. Sense of urgency put sense of trepidation into players instead. All of the load fell on them as coaches let them down. Started off good but then Kelly goes vanilla ball and deflates ND's drives. Van Gorder has absolutely no clue how to appeal to his players by tying their hands . The one sack and then he lays off.The players for the most part are young but coaches have not put them into successful positions to execute plays. Kelly is right. The thumb has turned on him.

What's scary is as I watched this game it became apparent to me that Kizer has to have a perfect game every week if this team is to beat anyone.

So not only does he destroy Zaire's confidence but now is threatening to do Kizer likewise. Wow!! Talk about a mess.

This has been his modus operandi since he got here: Rees was a better quarterback as a freshman than he was as a senior! Golson was better as sophomore than a junior (after the year off), and now Kizer is not as good as he was as a sophomore.

If CBK talked about BW.....he should be fired immediately. My hate for him has risen to new hights.

if you look at every QB that has played under BK they have been completely destroyed by the time they left.
-Dayne Crist
-Tommy R.ees (in fairness I don't think he ever had the talent to be a major d1 QB but still)
-Golsen
-Zaire (looked very inept in little work this year)

I realize that this list isn't world beaters, but at least make them better. There isn't 1 guy on that list that is better after going through the program, Rees maybe. We'll see how Kizer handles it. I have a feeling someday we'll look back and say "damn we wasted the year we had 1 of our best QBs in almost 20 yrs"

If you watch the Stanford game tonight you will see how coach Shaw work with his freshman quarterback limitations and led them to Victory.
