I don’t know if it’s possible to find the answer to this but I hope a stats fan on this board will give it a shot. During the Brian Kelly era, he has often won the opening coin toss and elected to take the ball. There has often been a debate as to what option is best. Defer or take the ball. Here are the questions that I’d like to see answered:
1. During the Kelly era, how many times has ND won the coin toss and taken the ball?
2. How many times did they defer?
3. What was the outcome of the first drive?
4. What was the outcome of the first drive of the second half for the opponent ?
5. Outcome of the first second half drive when ND deferred?
