Coach, thinking about BK's praise for CJ Sanders' ability to cut and him saying they haven't had someone who could do that since he's been at ND. I don't know that that is necessarily true, but I do think anyone who had that ability lost it in part to the strength training.
Let me make it clear, that I realize CJ will need to add some bulk and strength like any freshman does in order to play at the high level we expect him to, but does that in part take away from his Rocket-like ability to make those cuts. Seems like simple physics; the bigger a player is, the harder it will be to change direction.
Do you think there will be a balancing act with his training to maintain that agility without leaving him a little light and susceptible to taking big hits? Have you experienced this or have any first hand experience with how you have seen that dealt with? Seems like a real catch 22 to me.
