The story says CJ injured his hip and will require surgery. He is expected to miss the rest of spring and summer practice, but the good news is the doctors say he will recover 100% and be ready for fall practice.

Hopefully, this isn't the first sign of the next wave of injuries. At least he will be back before the season starts.

Report: Notre Dame WR/Return Man C.J. Sanders To Miss Rest Of Spring

Notre Dame will be without dynamic rising sophomore WR/KR/PR C.J. Sanders for the rest of the spring and part of summer, according to a report from 247Sports’ Tom Loy.

Loy’s report states that Sanders will need surgery for a hip injury, but that he’s expected to make a full recovery in time for the season.

Per 247:

Our source maintains that this injury will require surgery and we’re told the plan is to get that taken care of within the next week. Per our source, the doctors are extremely optimistic that surgery will go smooth and Sanders will be back and ready to go prior to the start of the 2016 football season.

As a freshman, Sanders caught only one pass for zero yards, but made a huge impact in the return game. He returned 28 kickoffs for 640 yards and one touchdown and ran back 25 punts for 182 yards and another score.

His role is expected to increase on offense this season, in addition to being a special teams threat.

Must have been a freak accident. I remember Tori Hunter broke his leg in a practice for the all american game. He simply was cutting for an out route and with no contact whatsoever he broke his leg.

BK says it is a "hip flexor sprain." A sprain doesn't sound like surgery would be needed but, considering the doctor expects a full recovery before the beginning of the season, it must be minor surgery.

The one silver lining is that it isn't in season and he has time to recover. The guy's a play-maker. We need him.

I guess the usual "Kelly Apologists" will be rounding into shape for another "injury plagued season" excuse. For God sake, is this not a yearly epidemic? If the injury excuse raises its head again this year, then something has to change. If Kelly is a jinx, adios. But as head coach, don't you have to adapt to the trends? Is it the S&C coach? Is it the way purple face practices? Fix it!!

It's football.Injuries happen a lot in contact sports.Has nothing to do with jinxes. You must not watch too much football.

^ rather than post that tell me which part you think incorrect or erroneous? I would listen and learn if you make a better case! really

there have been many changes in sports I have disliked, but my dislike or that I wanted to resist them mattered little; it was just unstoppable or unavoidable.
