Can/Will Chris Tyree Return for Next Season?

I don't think he can return next year -- unless he has a COVID year (not sure when/if that expires) ..

My pure guess is he goes to the NFL as either a late draft round or undrafted free agent. More games like the CMU game where he burns the defense with a long TD and his draft prospects improve. I just think he has finally found his position, bought into the position 110%, has worked extremely hard to improve his craft, and needs to make his case to the NFL this year. Not sure he is NFL talent, but I think his speed will get him some serious looks.

Agree. No sense being here next year if we are breaking in a first time starting QB either. I.E. His numbers should be best this year with Hartman and our relatively young / lack of experienced receivers and TE's.

Not sure who’s idea it was to move from running back to receiver, but it was the right way to go. “Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to be running backs”.

The transfer portal isn't going anywhere. If Marcus Freeman believes another grad transfer QB is required to win at TAM to open 2024, and be a better football team, then I expect Marcus Freeman to go in that direction.

Unfortunately, the portal works both ways.

I think it will come to do does he see himself getting more or less PT next year. Every WR is returning that has contributed, plus we have 2 wrs redshirting, and cam williams who should get PT from day 1.

I could see colzie transferring.

How much NIL he's getting has to be a factor.
I dont think so because I think he will be a late round pick to undrafted if ge leaves early

I think it comes down to does he still want to play football, does he think he can improve his nfl stock, get an extra year of free education

Does he want to continue playing football and have a shot in the NFL?

If the answer is yes, then the next question is does he think he gets better or shows out better next year coming back? That's a tough call

More competition and not as good of a qb.

Read the article in SI on Blake Corum the Michigan RB .

That's the way kids are thinking nowadays.

He thought of leaving but without saying a number he intimated he's getting well over a million a year in NIL.

If a kid can get more from NIL than he can make as a Projected Middle to Low Round Draft Choice why leave ?

Stay in school----improve your game and hopefully improve your Draft Status.

The kid Corum has bought 2 Apartment Buildings and is an investor in one under construction.

Tyree isnt making anywhere near Corum level NIL money or anything significant. He's a role player

Nil is a factor for some kids just not his type

LG at Michigan is getting 225K-----that's a bunch of money for a kid who likely will never get drafted and isn't a skill guy.

If Tyree finishes strong this season and hits the portal you have no idea what he could get.

We'll see

Not that much

I think he should go. Likely Undrafted free agent if continues on same trajectory but with a strong finish to the season, could go late rounds. Looks natural at the WR position, and 40 time will have teams biting. Don’t see his stock improving without Hartman.

I think there is a chance he returns especially if there is a transfer out. Our numbers are likely to be solid at wr next year, but he could probably do well coming back. The question is will he beat out an ascending greathouse if he returns...if not I doubt it's an option. He's said it himself. He didn't stay to not start

If you’re 4th round or worse in draft status, you should probably exhaust your eligibility and rake in as much NIL as you can. If you do it right, you can make more money in college

I think you nailed it. The big looming question for next season is who can win in August, @ A&M?

I just can’t see them putting Carr in that scenario. Minchey or another Grad Transfer?

I’d bet on Greathouse and Flores playing big roles next season.

We could have 5 damn talented WRs coming back:

Greathouse
Flores
Tobias
Thomad
Tyree

And all the TEs.

That’ll be an attractive group for a great QB grad transfer…..

Not running backs. Kyren Williams left after 3 seasons, round 5, now starting for the LA Rams.

RB's should leave as soon as possible.

EQSB left after 3 seasons, Round 6, now going into his 6th year on Sundays.

I’m not talking about whether or not they’ll make it in the NFL, I’m strictly talking about how much money they can make in College vs the NFL. This year, Kryren is making $870K (2nd season) contractually from the NFL. He could easily be making more in college with NIL. Kyren was a projected 2nd day pick(2nd/3rd round) and slipped to the 5th so he’s not exactly who I’m talking about anyways. I’m strictly talking about those projected 4th round or worse.

Working on your NFL pension and towards a second NFL contract far out weighs staying in school.

I get what you’re saying and took those into account, but what% of NFLers actually qualify for the pension. Don’t you have to be on an active roster for at least 5 years in order to receive it? Most NFL careers are only like 3-4 years. It’s a tough situation nonetheless

How Long Do You Have to Play in the NFL to Get a Pension?
NFL players must play for three seasons before they can be eligible to receive a pension. That's when he'll be considered vested. Meaning he's eligible to receive benefits negotiated under the CBA.

I think with Hartman, he will grade out well in the draft. Next year your back to the "in training" QB's. Dont see an upside to coming back. Would love it, but dont see it for him. Unless ND brings in another hired gun.
